Softy of the night is this Derek Stepan goal on Lankinen

I actually had the Gaudette goal on Raanta as my softy of the night, but from watching every goal on every night across the entire league, I don’t see the old “Stuff” play result in goals hardly ever anymore. It does on this one and it’s a really weak and pathetic one on the goalie Lankinen.

I'm gonna have to wait until tomorrow to do the softy of the night. There weren't a lot to choose from and there weren't too many really bad ones. The one on Knight initially looked horrible at one angle, but not so horrible at another.

Correction from last night. It was Knight in net for the Panthers. Not Bobrovsky. Now in my notes I had that right, but I typed Bobrovsky in the review.

Softy of the night is this Erik Johnson goal on Talbot

This isn’t gonna win softy of the week, but it was the weakest goal I saw last night. It even leaks through him.

Since you self reported we will only give you two demerits instead of three for the error.
I also accidentally put 7 goals stoppable instead of 8 at the end of my report, even though I clearly listed 8 different stoppable goals. So it didn’t affect what goes in my notes, but it was shoddy reviewing on my part. Not the most prepared one I’ve done this year, that’s for sure.

@OmNomNom

Since it is the last day of the month and there are 5 games on this day, should we count tonight's softy of the night (if there is one) as the last one for week 3 of the season? And this week coming up we do a softy of the week for this last week of October and then eventually the softy of the month for the 3 top voted softies of October?

sure! that sounds good. i have to take some time to backfill, it's been a busy few days for me, but will make sure to include in the weekly as well as a SotM poll!

I had reviewed all the games last night before the Rangers/Kraken game had started and I watched that game live because it was the only game on last night at that time. So I had it all figured out last night, I was just too lazy to type it up and I was tired and laying in bed already and I hate posting it on my phone, but I will if it's charged to a decent level. It drains my battery a bit when I post the review and my battery was in the red and at this point it's hard to get a charge while the phone is plugged in if I'm using it.

I'm gonna get to that now.

Softy of the night is this Drake Batherson goal on Cam Talbot

This video is too short and the replay isn’t good enough to show just how bad this one was. Batherson just had a softy of the week goal last week.

think you missed the ducks game on this day
Which is weird, because when I go to my notes, I have Gibson down for 7 goals stoppable on the season, yet I did a search (you can correct me if I'm wrong too) just to check my work in the reviews and I have only posted in my reviews for marking 6 of them stoppable. So I did review this in my personal notes, but for some reason it didn't make it into my game review on here. And I clearly remember the goal that went in off of Manson's glove and the 3rd period sharp angle goal on Gibson, which I marked stoppable on him and the late game winner with about 1:01 left in regulation. So I did review it in my notes, but it somehow didn't make it into the post.

The only goal stoppable there was one goal on Gibson. I'll go re-edit that review.

Thanks for pointing that out.

I edited the results for the Jets/Ducks game back in there for that day.

I'm really f***ing slow today and I'm only halfway through the four games last night that I'm reviewing. I didn't watch any hockey last night, just had the Blue Jackets/Avs game and then the end of the Blues/Kings on in the background while I was laying in bed.

Pretty sure I already found the softy of the night though.

What a stinker. Fleury is toast. Both the game tying goal and this game winner in what was a 2 goal blown lead were bad ones.
