I’m going to guess this is because ESPN has blocked videos out of the United States. Which I hadn’t heard of but this must be the case.

I’ve had to start using ESPN for my softy of the night videos, because NHL.com no longer lets you embed the videos on here. Not with their app, nor with their website.

Softy of the night is this Mikael Backlund goal on Philipp Grubauer



It was very hard to decide because there were so many goals. Vejmelka had a really bad one, Georgiev had at least one really bad one. Petersen (making his season debut lol) had some bad ones. There was that really bad goal by Quick where he couldn’t find the puck like an old person that lost their glasses or contact. Ullmark had a terrible game and looked like the Ullmark from last playoffs. The OT winner on Sorokin was bad.

This one really sticks out because this is the most lackadaisical, lazy attempt by a goaltender that I’ve seen this season so far. He just completely gives up on the play. He makes a half-assed effort at covering the puck and obviously it’s easily dug out from him, and then he makes no effort at all and doesn’t even move until it’s in the net. Quick’s attempt was bad, but he’s just old and at least he tried. Grubauer does not try here and his reaction after it is like “f***! Oh well!”.

Grubauer is a shit goalie anymore and this is not a symptom of Seattle and xxxxspanshin team or whatever.

He's one of the most over dramatic, hyperbolic PBP guys in the league.

His ''UN! BE! LIEVABLE!'' call is one of the worst in the league. If a goal is so unbelievable, then why does he make that call almost once a game? Something that happens almost once a game is not unbelievable.
