Softy of the night is this Eric Staal goal on Adin Hill

Just because you win the game doesn’t necessarily keep you safe from getting softy of the night. This was worse than the one I nailed Bobrovsky on, and wraparounds are almost always bad. Hill just misplayed it.

Garbage goal. He should have been able to see through that. There was a good enough sight line, he just didn’t do a good job tracking it.

Once again, no softie by Blackwood. He's looking solid as a rock since April 13. I don't think I've seen him give up a stoppable goal since that night when he gave up 4 goals on 11 shots and you counted one of them as stoppable.

It’s back! The most pointless thread on HF boards! The thread that pisses so many people off for slamming their favorite goalie and tallying them with slashes for goals that some NOBODY thinks are stoppable! I bet there were quite a few people happy this morning to wake up to not seeing this thread bumped, thinking I gave up on it or just forgetting that sometimes I don’t post these until the next morning or afternoon! I am so excited to start season FIVE! Of which the records are intact of all the way through, playoffs and regular season both, other than my botching and shoddy note keeping and editing of the 2020 playoffs.

October 10th, 2023

Predators vs Lightning: 4 goals against Saros, 0 stoppable. 3 goals against Johansson, 1 stoppable.

Blackhawks vs Penguins: 2 goals against Mrazek, 0 stoppable. 3 goals against Jarry, 2 stoppable.

Kraken vs Golden Knights: 3 goals against Grubauer, 1 stoppable. 1 goal against Hill, 0 stoppable.

Goals scored against goalies: 16. Goals stoppable: 4. Percentage of goals stoppable: 25%. Combined save percentages: .920%.

Note: this year I’m doing something a little different with the percentage of goals stoppable in my reviews. Instead of rounding to the nearest whole number, I’ll post the percentages down to what they are. Like for instance 26.72% or 31.29%. Last night it was a dead even percentage of 25%. There won’t be many dead even percentage nights.

When does San Jose play and will you be typing that score out while wrapped in a straight jacket? Asking for a friend.

They also open tomorrow night.

I’ve really run into a problem with embedding video from nhl.com after their horrible, shitty, cancerous site overhaul. I don’t see any options to share video any longer and I can’t find my softy of the night goal on YouTube either.

I’d love to know how you’re supposed to share video with their downgraded new website, which is disgracefully bad and I know I’m not the only one complaining about it. THG on YouTube has complained about it already in his videos and there was even a main board thread about it, which I may be about to bump to see if someone can teach this middle aged geezer how to embed video on it.

There’s no way they possibly could have stopped allowing the option of being able to share/embed a video, is there?

Softy of the night is this Jason Dickinson goal on Tristan Jarry

I really don’t like giving a goalie a softy of the night on a broken play or even a stoppable goal on a broken play for the most part, but Jarry was so slow to react on this one. He had time to really have this one and played it poorly.

Until someone can teach me how to embed videos on the new and downgraded nhl.com site, I’ll just have to link these. If it’s even possible on their new and worthless shit hole site.

Sometimes YouTube has them, but it didn’t have one for this goal in particular.

Softy of the night is this Kyle Connor goal on Jacob Markstrom

But man that Brady Skjei goal on Korpisalo deserves an honorable mention. He looked like he had that one in control but fanned on it.

The lob that rolled to Georgiev that he just put back out there is also worth a mention.

Good night for the goalies!
I just hope I did this right. Once in a while I don’t realize what goalie I’m watching (like I think it’s another goalie from the same team and they might be playing their backup that night) so I use the app to proofread. And since I review these the night before, even if I don’t post them until the next day, I forget how many goals each goalie actually allowed and when I see the score, I can’t remember how many were empty nets by that time. Like in our game, as well as the Philly/Columbus game, both teams goalies actually allowed the same number of goals. But the other team scored a goal after allowing an empty net goal. Philly had two empty net goals, despite both Hart and Merzlikins allowing two goals.

For the 1725th post the new app sucks (that’s an understatement) and once a game has ended they don’t even have the rosters on the game logs.

BUT……. The nhl.com website does have them. For as much as the website also sucks after the upgrade it’s somehow superior to the app. I thought sites made apps so that you would use the app and not the actual website? The app is worthless.

ESPN is my hockey go too. Highlights are up and game recaps are easier to navigate and you get arena attendance.
