it is hard, but the dick in me is sure it could be better

Haha, I'm sure people will complain like usual but it's got to be incredibly hard scheduling 1312 NHL games. Not to mention blackout dates due to concerts, and stuff as well. Then the divisional provisions and home and away requirements vs each team. In addition factor in Leafs playing on HNIC, marquee matchups, plus the Heritage and Winter Classics. Then there's keeping teams fresh, limiting back to backs, not to mention the extremely popular annual Frozen Frenzy :snide: I would imagine they use an algorithm and then tweak it for desired matchups and stuff like that.

Yeah it would be a fun challenge. I would imagine you would be thinking you're doing great and then realize Nashville has only played 16 games by March and have to start all over again. Or something like Philly has played 38 home games in a row. :ha: :laugh:

I wonder if St Louis rebuilds or does more of a retool. There forwards aren't bad. They have a couple prime aged guys in Kyrou and Thomas signed long-term. Neither are guys to build a team around though. They will have to make a decision with Buchnevich as well as he has 2 years left. There best prospects are forwards too, with Dvorsky, Snuggerud, and Stenberg. The state of there blueline though is bad. Really, really bad. Three OEL-like contract to guys in their thirties. Not alot in the pipeline either.

Yeah it'll be interesting to see, I think they should. They were probably banking on Parayko blossoming into a legit 1D rather than the solid 2 way defensive dman he is, as well as Thomas and Kyrou taking more steps in terms of complete game and leadership.

They've got some good pieces if they were to sell off.

I hope the days of Hoglander being a healthy scratch are over.....they need his energy and tenacity in the lineup every night, particularly on that third line.

For sure. I'm glad so far it looks like he's found how to play an effective game in the bottom 6, which he had struggled at previously.

I would like to (again) propose that once the game is over the GDT thread is closed and a PGT thread is started.

Not everyone can follow the game live. Some of us are watching the game on PVR and know the final score.

Make it happen please mods.

"Hughes, 60 feet of dirt, and the rest of their defensive corps."

I'd say it was Hughes, 6371 km of dirt, China, and then our defensive corps.

Someone didn't pay attention in Geology lessons. The earths crust is only 70km thick at an absolute max and soil/dirt only a few meters deep at max - generally far less. C'mon valky, I expect better. Impressionable posters like the next m2b are watching.

Win and we're all over the moon and thinking playoffs. Lose and our insecurities are back and we start dreading that this is the same Canucks team as the last 10 years. Yea the psychological damage under Benning is that bad. We'll only feel comfortable if we're still up in playoff competition my mid season.

With that said, just win.
