Slam the back of someone’s head against the ice hard and you’ll find out what the difference is
I disagree with what happened on the play.

I don't think "slam the back of someone's head against the ice hard" is even remotely close to what happened. I saw Hoglander basically manhandle him to the ice, roughing imo.

Sat Shah speaks a little bit too fast. Can barely make out what he’s saying sometimes

I wonder how often he gets a hair cut

I agree with @MS

After seeing the replay, that was a slew foot.

But I do take issue with the NHL's consistency in applying attempt to injure rules

because I don't think hog intentionally did what he did there

but you'll see players take two hand slashes or cross checks to players in vulnerable positions, or intentional headshots etc whatever like really vile shit that can alter a player's career and it's just looked past

but that slew foot is what gets actual in game punishment idk just interesting

To me that hit on Garland in the 1st was much more dangerous. The inconsistency is strange.

It’s potentially very dangerous. The potential is why it’s a serious penalty.

That play has less of a chance to injure somebody than any given hit in Football. Should we ban the NFL?
Nooooooes!!! I need something to do on Sundays.

My wife is so confused. Not necessarily about why it's a match penalty but why that is punished more than punching someone in the face. Her argument is that there's nothing with more intent to injure than punching the head.
There's honestly no way to answer this question. Except to say the answer to all "why?" questions is identical -- because it just is.

Reminds me of when Homer tried to buy a pistol and background check deemed him potentially dangerous.

Which means he's allowed 3 hand guns or less lol.

Like its a clear slewfoot, dangerous play, idk how anyone cannot see that esp with multiple replays cmon.

Completely warranted penalty, sure maybe inconsistently applied but thats the nhl. Sat amd imac sound like idiots if you watch the play even 3 seconds earlier hog is pissed at labanc coming in high ish and slew foots him down.

I wouldn't be at all shocked with a one game suspension, and yes Marchand should have 20x more than he does. F him.

tripping sure, 5 min major? if that's a major Brad Marchand would have like 50 majors in his career.
Multiply this by 10 and you’re closer

Did he still get to go through the express lane?

That was during play though, there wasnt really a need for Hog to do that. NHL is still wildly inconsistent with this shit though. Like manginapains BS against McCann should have been quite a few games suspension

Don't know if express lane existed back then.

I do know in a much later episode he ended up with a minigun.

The issue is the consistency.

I don’t theoretically have a problem with the call but we’ve seen far worse than this to our players over the past few years and it wasn’t called like this.

David Amber's kind of a milquetoast guy, but Sportsnet sidelining him to weekday panels while Ron Maclean waffles on HNIC is a disgrace.

Also love that he's a national guy who regularly pumps up the Canucks.
