They’re not going to advertise that Melynk is gone … they will advertise new ownership, new beginners, new era or whatever.

Anybody who thinks they weren’t spending $25.50 because of Melynk has some wires crossed. There are a few other issues they have to get worked through before they become decent customers.
Unless you’ve personally been impacted by him , you don’t rationally hold back $25.50 from a billionaire, especially when $25.25 of it goes to pay for the players you watch.

I don't know, I think that at least $1.25 of that $25.50 has been going to support Eugene's old drinking buddies like Rog.

Oh, I'm not upset. Doesn't change the fact that we hired an unqualified director of marketing. When it became clear that his priorities lay elsewhere we sat around for a couple of days then let him resign.

It all reeks of a lack of professionalism.
Eh, letting him resign was the professional way to handle it imo. I've go no issues with how the team handled it.

Hiring him as a marketing direction the first place is likely the more questionable decision

Interesting to see some of the more budget conscious posters fine with throwing money at a part time director of marketing who openly cheers for the Leafs. Pleasantly surprised he had enough self decency to step down because I doubt the board would have held him accountable.

LMAO on all the people upset about this…

As if this was anything to even talk about… this guy was parachuted in during Covid.

No one even knows what he did… but now every swinging dick on Twitter is up in arms… 😂

The embarrassment never ends.
You defend this org with every ounce of fibre in your body.

It's commemorable

Not really, but I think it’s funny everyone is excited about getting a guy who was working the team for 20+ years to quit over a tweet. Bravo Sens Twitter Army!

And the same folks that talk about “abuse and harassment “. It’s the biggest joke. 🤪

According to his own Linkedin Lajoie worked for the Senators for 9 months.

But I'm sure Euge was using some of the proceeds from those $25.50 tickets to throw awesome parties down in Bahamas, and Rog was probably a staple, maybe even helped organize... so in that sense, he could have been working for the team for 20+ years!

Your arguments live in a tiny corridor and we would say look at the bigger picture. Even if you disagree, you are basically arguing completely different things than those debating it with you.

I don’t know … feels like you’d complain about anything the org does. You buy groceries every day form companies that hurt way more people than Melynk ever did … but it saves you a couple of bucks.

For whatever reason … this site definitely has attracted a large group of #antiOrgNonAttenders. No idea if it’s site wide or specific to the Sens.

There are no proceeds off $25.50 tickets … we don’t even pay our own bills (we take financial aid from the league to pay our bills).

Interesting that the Melnyk daughters want to keep a team that can afford to have dad's friends on payroll but can't afford to pay their own bills...

Since money is so tight, they should probably cut the board from 4 to 1. Don't need 3 extra guys sitting around all day. Why do they need a team of 4 executives to not sell tickets?

Bet they could save at least $500k, or the equivalent of 19,607 $25.50 tickets, just by doing that.

Your stuck on that … money isn’t tight when they spend $60 on payroll and cut the hot water -

The org has tied revenue to spending … the daughters can tread water as long as they want. Their business will inflate while we’re stuck here whinnying about who we lose.

Sure, and they could cut additional expenses if they fired more of Eugene’s friends. There’s probably a few Roger’s cashing a cheque from Toronto. But I’d start with Pierre.

They don’t need to cut more - it’s balanced … they can humour the fan base with some increases in spending and if there isn’t a fan response they can just cut it back again.
They won’t risk more then your franchise value inflation.

He's can't be all that smart as a PR/marketing guy if he doesn't know enough to use a burner account to support the enemy team.

lol, we really do hire a lot of lousy people.

Roger Lajoie being hired at all is a giant joke. How tf does some radio guy from Toronto get a salary from the Senators? Much less as its marketing director???

Eugene was truly a terrible owner.

Maybe he knows his business better than you know his business ?

Who do you know in Ottawa who can generate more revenue than someone in the Toronto market. Most TV commercials, rink board adds are all Ontario based companies with head offices not in Ottawa.

LMAO to be an NHL team's marketing director you'd usually need some serious experience at that level, which obviously Lajoie doesn't have. Not surprised that Meknyk chose to give his friends big salaries over choosing the right person for the job.

Serious question. Are you saying he is a leaf fan? The guy states he has been a Sens fan since forever. The guy worked for the organisation full or part time for almost 20 years… including VP of the B-Sens. Did he really mean for it to be a trolling tweet or is he Leafs fan? No benefit of the doubt for him. (He must have been an friend of EM… so bring on the abusive and harassing tweets Sens Twitter Army - all good…. hypocrites ) 🤣
