Why? He's know EM for 20 years. He probably knows the daughters which probably influenced the way he was asked to leave. He's gone without a public lynching. In Senators land that is good.
I'm not saying it wasn't the correct way to go about it. I'm saying it shouldn't have happened in the first place and because it happened so publicly, I don't like that he got to go out with his head held high unlike, say, a Jim Little. That's all. Certainly not upset by any stretch.

prolly would have had to pay him more if he got fired to be fair. Probably came to an agreement, and we know the Sens can use the savings any where they can.

The guy is gone less than 2 days from his blunder. And with no drama. Why is that a clown show???

He resigned? Like HE gets to walk away on his terms?

And why is our director of marketing a T.O. radio host? Can we not pay someone to be here full time?

And while we're at it, maybe that someone should be a person with marketing and/or PR credentials and experience. Perhaps then he/she won't be rooting for our biggest rival.

It's all a joke, IMO.

I'm sure this will get some blowback, but it looks pretty damn obvious at this point that Jim Little wasn't the one that was out of line in that scenario. He should be commended if anything imo.

LMAO on all the people upset about this…

As if this was anything to even talk about… this guy was parachuted in during Covid.

No one even knows what he did… but now every swinging dick on Twitter is up in arms… 😂

The embarrassment never ends.

It doesn't take formal training in marketing to know this is a bad thing for a marketing director.

The new beginnings theme is fine. You provide hope. But trying to sell tickets based on a death is not appropriate.
It's based on a new regime replacing the old one i.e., things are new, different and improved now. Might not have been well explained, but many here have figured it out.

Probably should hold back on the commendations if anything his ex-wife has to say about him is true. Looks a lot more like two peas in a pod butting heads.

We don’t have to try and make heroes out of everyone who argued with Eugene, nor villains out of everyone associated with him.

Oh, I'm not upset. Doesn't change the fact that we hired an unqualified director of marketing. When it became clear that his priorities lay elsewhere we sat around for a couple of days then let him resign.

It all reeks of a lack of professionalism.

For sure there are some other issues at play with Little's own reputation, I just think the particular instance of what was reported where the notorious blowback was literally Little telling Melnyk he was the problem and that not going well. There's some nuance required to that statement, but in a way it's one that we would all like to have delivered.

I hear you, but wasn’t it a massive workplace blow up?

In my opinion it’s good that all of the blowhard tyrants are gone from the team.

Blowback as you put it can be cathartic perhaps, but the reality is that it never works as desired with these types of people. They don’t listen, feel contrite, make amends, feel sorry. They simply shout back louder, hold grudges, get punitive, and never take any responsibility.

To be honest the venting in here is probably more meaningful than anything directly shouting at the owner would give folks haha!

You really hold up your end of the bargain thats for sure. If you cant see why this is a big deal you should probably follow suit.

Who's embarrassed?
He is embarrassed because people care about the sens marketing manager tweeting #leafsforever . Tells you all you need to know about said poster. How he doesnt see this as an issue of a moderator of the OTTAWA SENATORS forum is mind boggling.

I actually don't disagree, but the temptation is too much sometimes. I've burned a few bridges in my life being unable to keep my true feelings in, and I don't regret those particular incidences even though I ultimately paid the price.

I guess its hard to say without being in the room, it just sounds like everyone was under the thumb of Melnyk and had to take what he dished, so I have to commend someone giving it back as a sacrificial lamb, even if I don't know the full story and they themselves have some question marks.

Melnyk was free to run the team as he saw fit and hire whoever he wanted. The "board" can do the same thing. It's just funny!

I wonder how many more former drinking buddies are on the payroll working part-time? I guess we can say one thing about Eugene - he took the revenue from those $25.50 tickets and took care of his buds! Not a bad friend to have.

It's no surprise that the business was/is bleeding money though.

And no need to get upset about cheering for a laughingstock - it is what it is. The Sacramento Kings and Jacksonville Jaguars have fans too! We should all form some sort of club.

Nope. What the f*** does moderation that have to do with anything? So insecure.

I guess we should get rid of Methot too… he tweets a lot of #leafsforever too. 🤣

“This job requires my full attention, therefore I quit.”

Lmao, how much longer would this guy have been collecting a paycheque if he didn’t shoot himself in the foot

As long as it took for ‘the board’ to finish going through all of EM’s hires most likely.

I’m not convinced that this guy did anything for the Sens beyond getting a legit paycheque from his buddy the owner.

Bet he was pulling in $100k a year for part-time hours, or the equivalent of 3,921 $25.50 tickets. Probably sent a couple emails per week and cashed the cheques!

I'd be curious to know how much his buddies on the "board" have been pulling from the franchise. Feel bad for his daughters that they'll have to deal with all these hangers-on stealing their money.

Does anyone think this was a FT gig? I kinda figure this was very part time. Maybe monitoring the Zuligans (if they still are on the payroll)
