Not sure what you mean by effort but writing a few sentences explaining the basics of the game is not strenuous for me at all.

Is this you politely asking me to not question anything you write anymore? If so, there is an ignore button for that.

Ya… I may ignore you. I spent the morning telling you to stop misquoting me multiple times.

I’m now spending the evening passing on a 8 post multi quote that I disagree with every point and don’t feel like explaining. I’m not going to touch your “basics of hockey thing”.

In the end ignoring you
Doesn’t stop you from responding to me posts but I can’t engage you on hockey until you accurately reflect my content and focus your thoughts.

Nobody wants to read this here.

I can't wait to see the posts if the Sens will be off to a slow start mainly because of the 8 million $ boys.

There is no doubt that Melnyk towards the later part of his presence (RIP) around the team did more harm than good. Passionate sports team owners should never be as deeply involved in all the teams decision making as Melnyk was. Just because you own the team does not mean you know the game of hockey. Its like Jerry Jones and the Cowboys. While they age the game evolves. No one will truly know what exactly was and is happening behind closed doors. Most news these days are so twisted and mutated just to appear as news.

Is it coincidence now that Melnyk is no longer around that Pierre seems to be far more effective in his position ? or was this Pierres and Melnyks plan all along. Time will tell. What I do know is that there is a lot of incopetent bosses/owners around, they might not be bad people and can be actually likeable but their inability can bring everyone down especially when they believe they are king sh*t.

I'm not sure how time will tell whether this was the plan or whether Dorion was handcuffed. I think the best we'll ever have on that front is an educated guess, and all signs point to the latter by my eye. But it'll never be more than a guess unless outright confirmed by Dorion, which just doesn't seem likely.

You are just upset that you can't answer the questions you get when you throw stuff at the wall.

You misrepresent and then change goalposts then throw out your condescending, "First year philosophy" garbage.

So tell me, who are these intimidating teams with roster of fighters that we need protection from?

Leafs? Habs? Sabres? Wings? Lightning? Panthers? Hurricanes? Bruins? Islanders? Rangers? Caps? Pens? Blue Jackets? Devils?

Who are you specifically talking about?

Well… Pierre and Melynk always had their plan. We knew it included then tear down and we were told it would include more spending when the team was in a competitive position.

The Netflix mini series “The Plan” will be released shortly after our second Stanley Cup victory. It will be a tell all, including intimate moments with PD and his GF.

We do not need a "tough guy" to add to the roster. Game is different now. Who was the policeman on Colorado or Tampa? Priority should be someone on the back end with size and physicality. Outside of that, the forwards can hold their own.

I am of the opinion that there was a plan but also Melnyk’s micromanagement of the hockey ops handcuffed Dorion.

Well something didn't jive. If this was indeed their plan all along that mean's they were full of it when they proclaimed they tried extend Karlsson, Stone, etc...

Regardless, better times ahead.

Move on ... nothing about you intimidates me remotely. I read what your write and I disagree with nearly all of it. I don't need to hash it out with you. You may feel the same. That's Ok, I would expect it.

I'll circle back down the road when you ask or debate comments I "actually" say without the the emotional stuff like "are just upset that you can't answer the questions you get when you throw stuff at the wall" etc. etc.

All good, lets keep this thread on Dorion. enjoy your day.

Yeah, I don't think it's a surprise the first off-season under new ownership seems to have played out with a weight lifted off everyone's shoulders.

Best vibes and great execution by management

Plans evolve, not sure you can read I to anything here, they may very well have wanted Karlsson, Stone, and Duchene to be part of their rebuild, but when those players decided to move on they were forced to adapt.

So far, regardless of whether or not it went as planned, the end results are looking promising. We had some rough patches along the way, but recovered nicely.

There's a lot of change in the line-up so it wouldn't surprise me.

I think DJ Smith will probably attract most of the negativity in that event though.

I think the Sens prove from game 1 they are a Cup threat. This is a team that will never play off its backfoot, fans and analyst are talking about potential playoffs - I’m sure the players and the locker room are talking Stanley Cup

There’s something about teams with a burning passion to cement themselves as winners that goes further then experience or skill. Ottawa is for real and this group is serious, serious about winning and serious and being professional - and within the locker room has bigger goals then we realize.

The only nagging feeling I have at the back of my head is the fact that we had to ship out two of our veteran "character" guys in N. Paul and C. Brown who really helped to set the tone for the squad in terms of work ethic.

They are both guys who would be solid supporting players for the post-season (as we saw in Tampa Bay), but the window doesn't quite align and I get why we made the moves that we did. Conceivably, Giroux can help fill that void as well.

Not to mention, chemistry can be an elusive thing and we have to find it quickly with two new big forwards taking up big roles.

My other reservation is that we relied on very strong goaltending from Anton Forsberg last year to mask our defensive shortcomings which may or may not continue.

On the other hand, I will say that I'm very excited to see Chris Tierney suiting up for the Florida Panthers.

There are legitimate reasons why we might struggle early in terms of reaching peak play, but DJ Smith has blown two starts already so he won't survive a third IMO.

I agree, I think the team is definitely lighter without Paul and Brown, but with the speed they’ve added (ADB, Joseph, Giroux just for his puck moving abilities) I think the team speed throughout the lineup will surprise teams - Sanderson being one player who is perfectly slotted as the #2 puck carrier on the team. He’s going to give this team a big push.

Also have a lot of faith in Pinto, the power he brings through the middle of the ice will makeup for a lot of what was lost in Paul and Brown. Ridley Greig, Kelly, Kastelic - I think theirs lots of guys who’ll play for the crest - the goaltending I think will be there: we have enough goaltending to get us to the playoffs and all Cam Talbot has to do is pretend he’s Cam Ward for 8 weeks and we’re having a parade

I'm excited to see this team skate. It could be magnificent.

Yes - it’s nice talking to you when you can’t correctly quote me on any single point. That’s 4 posts in a row. Very healthy. More than anything I just wish you would stop mis quoting me and then critiquing your own words as if I wrote them.
