I was gonna say that ‘we’re a team’ seems to be a motivating factor for both Giroux and Cat. The players who messaged them can’t get enough of it as a selling point.

A+ brainwashing job by the GM! ;)

Was that 2 or 3 years ago?

Feels like some are scrapping the bottom of the barrel to keep up the negativity around Dorion here.

It’s the summer and we’re just waiting around.

We can get back to slagging our cherry picking non-working third line players soon enough.

If the worst thing about Dorion is something amusing that happened on TV 2 to 3 years ago then we’re in good shape.

Maaaan, people aren’t even ragging on Dorion with this stuff, just laughing at absurd things. Life is funny. Try laughing once in a while, you’ll live longer!

Oh I laughed at these things 3-5 years ago…. They’ve been recycled over and over here.

This is a Dorion / Management thread and I recognize why people want to … but it doesn’t have to be a constant negative thread. That can go in the “I’m smarter than Dorion Thread” .

Sens had 35 shots total from defensemen on their PP last season.

16 individual defensemen around the league had more PP shots last season than the Sens D combined.

Chabot had 34 PP shots in his last season under Boucher.

If the Sens want a « higher volume » PP QB they need to set up the PP for the point shot. That’s just now how DJ runs his PP.
I agree. We need a PP that includes shooting from the point. The team needs to have more movement on the PP too. Standing still in one spot does not open passing lanes nor cause pressure on the defenders. Stutzle added movement with his skating and puck carrying ability. I hope Debrincat and Giroux bring that too.

Come on just get us a top 4 d dorion
Dorion spent what budget dollars he had on Hamonic. We should have traded Zaitsev and used the budget dollars to get a top 4 D.

hamonic was a bad move when it happened and is still bad. Could have had CDH for less to fill a bottom pairing role

I think we overpaid to get him based on the circumstances (not to mention what Dorion himself said they asked for) but frankly he's fit in well since arriving and is a better fit than De Haan who would just further crowd the left side.

We have no real need for deHaan, never did. Hamonic filled a need, upgrades Zaitsev/J.Brown, and can likely be moved if Thomson or JBD prove to be ready.

Lol can't tell if he is licking his fingers or shoving half of them in his mouth as he eats.

I'm much more comfortable with Hamonic than Zaitsev. I actually liked the move even if we arguably overpaid.

Meh, we overpaid for no reason

Could have had

Lyubushkin
Miller
Rutta

all for less cap hit and all probably better than Hamonic and kept our pick

There's no guarantee we could have signed any of those guys, and certainly no guarantee that had we signed them it would have been to the same deal they signed with other teams, we'd likely have to beat the offer they took.

I'm also not convinced Miller or Lycushlin would be better, I do like Rutta though.

High chance with the roster we have now that one would have come. If none came then make the trade for Hamonic after free agency.

Hamonic was a good acquisition - look how hard it is to get a RD.
its not hard to get a bottom pairing RD. There were many avaliable in free agency as I listed.

getting a top 4 is hard but again we have seen some moved already like Marino. Sens can get by with a top 4 LD and playing someone on their offside

This post is a joke, right? It's not hard at all to get bottom-pair RD lol. I know Dorion is your dad but saying trading a third-round pick for 1.5 years of a #6 RD is a 'good acquisition' is pretty sad.

If we manage to acquire a top 4 RD we won't even need Hamonic or any of those other guys.

They'd be the 6th D and wouldn't be worth 2.75-3M salary. Should just play the best of Brannstrom/JBD/Thomson as the 6th D instead.

Hamonic was such an unnecessary acquisition. Last thing we needed was another bottom pairing D making big money.
