Anyone else only realize recently that the Sens gave up not only the 2023 1st and 2024 2nd, but also a 2026 2nd?

Could have sworn the deal was our 2023 1st + a conditional 2024 1st, which was basically guaranteed to end up being Washington's 2024 2nd.

What ended up as the 12th OVR pick + two future 2nds is pretty significant value to give up.

Chychrun better extend here, because only getting two years of him for that much value would hurt badly.

He seems to have some ties to the area so hopefully that makes it more likely he stays than DeBrincat.

what are you going to do when Dohrion gets fired?
Depressing thought

He wanted to come here for sure.

Lol, everyone is just going to do the same stuff with the new people.

Haters are gonna hate, lovers are going to love, and a bunch of people in the middle with think they are objective and ‘realistic’!!

This is not the first change in personnel this board has gone through :)

I don’t think we’ll have a problem keeping him here, but he’s probably going to want quite the raise after this contract.

We've never had someone hired from outside during the Melnyk era.

Three GM's. One inherited and fired quickly. Two GM's hired from other positions internally. This organization has not hired a GM externally in over 20 years.

It's not been a place with constant change, or much of it at all for the main decision makers. It's two guys, one of which assisted and trained under the other.

First part was poorly worded on my part. The rest stands. This is not a team that has changed much at all in the management seat during Melnyk's tenure. Internal hire followed by his assistant internally hired where the only other rumored candidate was the other assistant GM.

Leblanc did a fine job considering the tire fire he had to work with, surely their must have been room for him in our 10 person hockey front office....lol....
He seemed like a guy that was hired basically to get them through that tumultuous period. I agree he did a good job. The President of Business Operations role though seems like a position an Owner probably wants their guy for, at least imo.

They dont need to do that to add Sundqvist and Kleven should be starting in the AHL. There are going to be injuries they need depth. If anything they should be signing Sundqvist and another player. Id only be looking for guys on one year deals personally.

Tkachuk-Stutzle-Giroux
Kubalik-Norris-Batherson
Tatar -Pinto- Joseph
Smejkal - Kastelic - Sundqvist
Kelly - MacEwen - Sokolov

Sanderson - Zub
Chabot - Chychrun
Brannstrom - Hamonic
Kleven - JBD

Korpisalo
Forsberg

Thats a playoff team.

Oh Aragorn you're funny. You're like a record that skips in the same spot ..trade Brannstrom...trade Brannstrom...trade Brannstrom

Agree, but one would think new ownership would want to keep competent people? Hopefully, he has an equally good or better replacement in mind. This town can be tricky if you don't have the right people in place who know the city & business community, we've had enough failures in the past.

Suspect that he “caught wind” of some probable charges coming, and the heads up was a courtesy to allow him to take control of his future options sooner rather than later.

all kinds of rumblings that Leeder is returning to the organization.

We better start competing damn soon because the cupboard is extremely bare. Gonna be hard to add to this team without trading away core pieces.

Fingers crossed.
21M in cap space next year and a full cupboard of picks helps a lot. We only need complementary players so things look very very good.

PD spoke pretty highly of Tyler Boucher this morning on 1200

There was really no way for him to stay. If Andlauer is going to bring in his own guy to run business operations, effectively that's constructive dismissal.
