I'm not endorsing him, but it's not that black and white. It's been a mix of good and bad, like Dorion. Their core is obviously the problem there. Whether or not he was allowed to trade them under Shanahan appears to be in question. Playoff appearances every year under his tenure after the first couple seasons.

Getting Murray was dumb af, but it seems like he has a way out of that with buyout or ltir and Samsonov being as good and as cheap as he was made it sort of irrelevant this year.
Please, please go to Pittsburg Dubas, don’t come here and ruin this team.

For PR, can we also bring back Nick Rutkowski (or whatever his name was) to tell fans how comforted and excited they should be that there's a salary cap floor the team is required to spend to?!?!
He's a big-wig at the NCC now. He's outgrown this hockey stuff.

Is Pierre McGuire not returning?
Not a big enough Leafs fan.

We could probably do better but the choice between Dorion and Dubas is pretty easy.

Marner and Matthews have never missed the playoffs in their careers.

Chabot, Stutzle, Brady, Batherson have played maybe one week of meaningful hockey in their careers...
Well I’d say Marner has missed the playoffs every year.

Yea huge playoff choker but he still has 47 playoff points in 50 games.

How many playoff games and points do Brady, Chabot, Batherson have combined?

Don’t let context get in the way of your narrative. Even this year we were handcuffed by a budget. We spent less than 75M including dead money.

Previous Senators teams outperformed this one with even greater budget handicap.

This was one of the most expensive and skilled Senators team ever.

It's weird how it's only excuses for this club all of a sudden, when before it was so cutthroat. Like the rebuild and Dorion have made everyone used to losing, while throwing stones at other teams who actually made the playoffs.

So 74M is one of the most expensive payrolls ever ? Maybe in gross numbers but not in relation to the rest of the league.

As for most skilled teams, that’s a stretch, our bottom 6 repeatedly got caved, our 2nd line couldn’t compete at even strength, vastly undersized on the back end and to top it off AHL goaltending for large chunks of the season.

If you don’t spend enough and try to rob Peter to pay Paul (dead money) then you don’t have sufficient depth.

This appears to be coming to a head.

I think there will be charges laid.
They would be by now no? Once the warrant was issued it would have taken a few days to get this wrapped up. Or at least possible charges against would have been laid if evidence was found.
The police do not sit on these things until a proper time

Don’t care what salary was, only interested in cap numbers.

Well, it's not really an idea or a narrative, it's been the literal truth that professional athletes have had a different set of standards for them compared to the general public, just like celebrities. Agreed it needs to change.
Not to mention Presidents!

I see that GM of the Year finalists have been announced. Dorion is not on it. ;)
