Since we weren't able to hire Bob Woods as head coach, the Columbus Blue Jackets would like to hire Dale Hunter as their head coach. We would also like to hire Hershey Bears head coach, Mark French as an assistant coach. Interim coach Claude Noel will stay with the Blue Jackets as an assistant coach.

We will need someone ready to handle it.

I don't have the knowledge to assume that role.

Well I don't expect there to be anymore FA from europe. Can one of the Agents just pick him up as a client.

I would be happy to be his agent and sign him to my team for league minimum if no one else is interested.

Other teams will be interested, that's for sure.

Acquire Two Quality Players to Solidify Winning Intentions

Dallas, TX The Stars made a big splash as free agency began on Thursday, but not by inking a contract.

The Stars acquired veteran goalie Tomas Vokoun and skilled young winger Nathan Horton from the Florida Panthers. Headed to Sunrise are Jamie Benn, prospect Philip Larsen, and currently qualified RFAs Matt Niskanen and Fabian Brunnstrom.

"We feel this is a fair deal for both sides," stated Stars GM IR4. "We payed a heavy price, but we now have an excellent #1 goaltender and another highly talented winger. We wish Jamie, Matt, Fabian, and Philip the best of luck in Florida."

Just curious, but signing Mats Zuccarello Aasen, is it any different than signing a regular free agent?

Action light so far, but competing offers are already in for a couple of players:

Anton Volchenkov -- Multiple offers with $6M per for 6 years leading the way.
Pavel Kubina -- Three teams have made offers, $5.85M for 5 years tops so far.
Joe Corvo -- $4.25M per is the top offer.
Andy Sutton -- Two teams looking at him, $2.25M per the leading offer.
Chris Schubert -- 1 offer.
Kurtis Foster -- 1 offer.
Henrik Tallinder -- 1 offer.

Still looking to acquire a #1 defenseman. Scott Glennie, Kari Lehtonen, Trevor Daley, and Karlis Skrastins are available. Mike Ribeiro is also available, but only in a package for a #1 defenseman, and a good #2 center must come back my way.

No one else is available or will be available.

Didnt see this anywhere, but who do we talk to for Offer Sheets and/or non-tendered RFAs?

Are still willing to listen to offers for Zbynek Michalek. He's signed for 4 years at $3.5M per so, if you're not interested in getting into bidding wars for UFAs, here's a top-pairing guy locked up for 4 years.

Looking for prospects/picks in return.
