The New Jersey Devils are proud and estatic to anounce that they have resigned world class sniper Ilya Kovalchuk!!!. the deal is 126M$ for 14 years (9M$ per), front loaded, full NTC the first 9 years, limited NTC (10 teams he would accept a trade to) the last 5 years. this was a last minniute deal. Ilya had this to say "it was a last minute deal. Me and my agent were thinking long and hard about testing the UFA market but we couldn't pass up on the possibility to stay with one of the best team in the NHL."

Backlund WILL be a Koivu type player, and is NHL ready, White/Gio are both young defenseman, throw in a 1st and a streaky scorer in Kotalik and it's really a decent trade for both of us.
