I think that Simmons, Ghost and Voracek will be gone by the TDL; not sure what the return will be. Toronto has been sniffing around enough that they could be one trading partners.
I’m not big on moving Gudas. He and Sanheim have been the best defensive pair this year. I’d hate to break up that.

It makes more sense to wait until the offseason because more players will be available and it would net the team a higher draft pick, but I’m okay with deals now as long as those players acquired will be around for 2-3+ years.

I think we’ll hop a few teams and end up in the 8-13 range. Anyone outside of Hughes and I hope they move the pick. We don’t need another forward prospect who will make an impact in 2-3 years.

Not understanding why we want to trade for more prospects, as we have a deep and well regarded pool ourselves that cannot get time at the NHL level? Why add to the backlog? Play the ones we got, maybe move a couple to add good young NHL players, etc. No need to strip the cupboards bare, but we should certainly start taking some prospects off the shelf.

When you make trades, you're often stuck with the other party's assets, that is, you can't guarantee that the team that wants your player(s) has what you want, but draft picks and highly rate prospects are tradeable assets, so by stockpiling them from teams in the playoff race you can then make trades with teams that are rebuilding. And it's easier to make two separate trades than try to work out the mechanics of three or four way deals.

Why not, just in time to replace whomever we lose in the ED!
And if they're not traded now, JVR and Voracek may well be on the way out by then.
And Giroux will be approaching the end of his career.

More is better than less. And it could be the last top ten pick we have for a decade.

If we sign a big name FA or two in the next couple years, we'll need low cost players to fill out the roster, better a high draft pick than another VdV or Cousins.

Stooge! You are the stoogiest of all stooges on here (even more than the appleorchard).

Conjecture and hearsay! Nothing more, nothing less.

Lies! We already have low cost players through our fallen saint's drafting. We almost have too many of them. Not a problem.

Did you know that Voracek is a fan of the Grateful Dead? He has a Jerry Garcia tattoo on his left buttcheek.

It is extremely unlikely that all those pieces will be moving.
