With rumors of Douglas Hamilton being available, and the Canes being in need of goal-scoring, would a JVR for Dougie deal make sense? The VRs are reunited, and Dougie can run up the Philly art museum steps by himself all he wants. Win-win.

I agree
Has anyone SEEN Chuck Fletcher? Does he exist?

I'm actually glad he didn't get rushed into doing something stupid like trading something valuable for a crappy goalie to 'save the season' or trading a kid when the vets are spoiling the bed.

The season is over. Playoff odds 0.2%

Philadelphia Flyers Playoff Chances - Sports Club Stats

The rest of the season is about youth development and recouping assets for whatever he can get.

For Sale:
Simmonds - price will depend on partner.
Macdonald - if we eat salary, we might find a sucker.
Gudas - for the right price, but he could stay.
Weise - someone might be dumb enough to give us futures for him, or a 5th pick if we eat half his salary.
JVR - not sure if anyone needs a PP specialist that much, but I'd eat some of his salary to move on from his slacking.
Voracek - probably not worth trading right now. He's great every other year, and that was last year.
Elliott and Neuvirth are available if they can get healthy in time. Holding breath...1..2..3..
Folin - for a 7th?

To be waived:
Lehtera, Weal, McKenna (eventually).

Call ups:

Myers, Friedman, Vorobyev, Aube-Kubel, Leier, Bardreau, Lyon/Stolarz.

Let's see if some of these kids can play at the NHL level now, to get ready for next year.

I agree.
I also think Michael Raffl would be available too!

Aubé Kubel can replace him.

I would move Elliott + Simmonds to Boston for Rask. Halak has taken over there, and Simmonds could give Boston that push they’re looking for.

I’d also target Stone or Panarin in the off-season.

And hopefully we can snag that Kakko kid.
Or Hughes.

Can you imagine ??

Panarin—Hughes—Voracek
Giroux—Couturier—Konecny

As your top 6.

Frost/Vorobyev/Lindblom/Laughton/Aubé Kubel/Van Reimsdyk/Patrick

All somewhere in the bottom 6.

With Myers/Morin promoted.

rask / Hart in net. Stolarz as the #3 with Sandstrom/Ersson

Stop making excuses for Fletcher. He's a miserable failure.

How many goddamn hockey guys are we going to go through before one of them figures out MacDonald is awful and that we need to get Myers' career going? He couldn't find a competent coach. He couldn't fire the most fireable assistants in the league. Hasn't improved the roster one iota.

**** Fletcher in his stupid ****ing face.
He’s been in charge for 1 month & he’s not playing NHL 19.

This could work. What do you think the Flyers would have to add to a package deal?

Canes are all about the money, so it would have to be someone cheap or someone marketable and since they are also all about the nerdstats they'll probably ask for Couts/sanheim.

Marketable? You don't think getting the VR bros together is marketable enough? With their post-game celebrations, they obviously love gimmicks. They could create an entire virtual reality theme to market the VR bros. If they don't make this trade, they must hate money.

It has become alarming Myers hasn't been recalled. I thought with the Hart recall things had changed, but this franchise seems afraid of themselves.

The only thing I can think of is that the Flyers are going into sell mode and want to get guys like Frolin and Weal some ice time for other teams to see. I can see the team waiting for the deadline before bringing up Myers, NAK and or Vorobyev.

It's more likely the Flyers are simply inept.

Fletcher probably knows AMac sucks. I don't know how you can spend your entire life around hockey and think AMac is a passable NHLer? There has to be a reason he is waiting on the Myers call-up. Maybe this is just an advanced tanking strategy, or there are some big moves in the works and Myers will be called up after that.

How long should it take a professional hockey guy to figure out that AMac sucks?
Is it so hard to fathom that Fletcher might want to wait until nearer the trade deadline, when players typically have peak value, to make moves?
Maybe he’s trying to move AMac — sending him down before the deadline isn’t going to help that.
He’s also probably trying to maintain some semblance of team morale in a lost season; once a spot is cleared via trade—and it will be—Myers will be up.
Like I said, this isn’t a video game. There are tons of factors at play. You’re just letting your intense hatred of MacDonald & youthful impatience make you turn on Fletcher literally one month into inheriting a mess.

I agree with this too GB. Hard to get good value when the league knows you're hired to make trades and we are a dumpster fire.

Only his refusal to bring up Myers, I criticize him about.

I want to see Myers, also, but the season is a washout. At this point, let him get big minutes in the AHL until the Flyers can open a clear role for him. It’s only 7 more weeks.
If they called him up now you know he’d get limited minutes, & there’d be some kind of rotation where multiple D are disgruntled because they aren’t playing regularly, etc.
