I don’t get the Luc hate.

Most people wanted Sutter gone. Some wanted DL gone.

Most wanted a youth movement. Blake and Luc did that.

Players had career years last year. Carter missed most of the year. They add Kovalchuk.

This team is slumping and underachieving.

Is it Stevens and co.?
Players?

Blake and Luc are lower on the list imho.

It will be interesting to see Blake’s comments more than anybody tho.

Trades seem to take weeks not days.

Not sure there is a simple answer here.
It's beyond a slump.

Getting completely blown out by the bottom teams in the league.

The likelihood of some big trade when we're still in October is small. This isn't pre-cap. GM's could do all kinds of things back then. Those things just aren't done anymore. Not in October. Nobody is helping Blake out of this. Other GM's see what the Kings are doing, and will squeeze Blake every minute of the day.

Other than Detroit with the grind line, how many former cup teams kept this many of their role players?

None, and that is not an exaggeration. Literally no team in the cap era has held on to as many pieces for as long as the Kings have.

And there is a reason why teams don't do that and instead refresh their roster.

Kyle Clifford is now in his 9th season in LA, 9th season!!
Let that sink in. And sorry to pick on Clifford, he is not the reason the team sucks, but a fourth line player should not spend nine years in one place.

When you're starting to Rosen you know you're in trouble

um, no. Nothing about soccer is interesting.

I know a lot of people on this forum don't care about it or the Galaxy in general, but as someone who follows both teams regularly its frustrating to see two teams who were on top of the world only like 4-5 years ago take an extreme nose dive in such a short amount of time.

I don’t think AEG cares. Though if I were Uncle Phil, I’d be none too happy with Luc selling ownership this bill of goods.

My only hope is that the building’s looked pretty empty recently. That has to catch someone’s attention up top.

They have to realize that the LA Kings will not contend anytime anywhere as long as Luc is running the show. I don’t want to denigrate anyone here, but the guy is a pretty face with barely a HS diploma to his name. He has no clue what he’s doing.

Obviously Luc doesn’t have a clue what he’s doing. The letter to the fans says enough about Luc’s ability to run a team. I think he grossly miscalculated the work this team needed and the problems that DL was facing. Luc thought he could just step in and be player friendly, that’s all the core needed. But what’s happened is the culture fell apart and we’re right back into kings hockey in the late 90s and early 2000s.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Luc actually convinced AEG to dump Dean to save the core. I could rant on about Luc but he needs to go and had no business taking over President of Hockey operations.

Not counting on it but I hope someone loses it and starts a brawl.

Quick would be about the only one to do it. Since he can't save a shot anymore, his swagger is gone. Nobody on this team is going to do anything like that. Even if Brown was healthy and still had the C, he was never a fighter. There's nobody on this team to A) do that, and B) follow whoever did it.

I’m frustrated too but what has changed from last year?

Aside from missing Brown, shouldn’t they be better?

Was Turgeon the difference?

Carts and Kovy in the lineup is an upgrade.

Team had 98 points last year.

Did they all get married and have kids and forget about their careers?

Coaching will be the first and easiest change but something is off. Did they give up on Stevens already?

I don’t know how Stevens is in the room. He doesn’t seem fire and brimstone. I don’t think he has made good adjustments or lineups but that is all I can concretely pick at as a fan.

They were able to get games to O.T. and feast on 3 on 3.

Dean Lombardi comes in and comprehensively changes the culture of a perennial loser, culminating in two Cup championships.

Overzealous loyalty to the staff who helped him do this culminates in his unceremonious departure - primarily at the hands of ex-players who won nothing with the franchise and arguably contributed to the losing culture Lombardi wished to exorcise.

These ex-players sell ownership a bill of goods, claiming the team is still competitive when it clearly isn’t. Under their helm, the franchise returns to mediocrity, and the losing culture rears its head once more.

If that ain’t a f***in Greek tragedy, I don’t know what is.

Did the culture fall apart, or have they just lost talent for nothing? Probably a bit of both, but again, most of those culture guys were still here in 14-15. Mitchell, nothing. Voynov, nothing. Richards, nothing. Stoll, nothing. Regehr, nothing. Penner, nothing. Greene, nothing. Williams, nothing. Sekera, nothing. Lucic, nothing. Versteeg, nothing. Gaborik, shuffled cap around. The 2015 and 2016 picks for nothing.

It's easy to blame Robitaille, a former player with no business experience to speak of. Pretty sure people were ripping Leiweke too, who had at least some sort of business training.

I know Dean made lot of stupid trades and mistakes that cost us a lot but letting him go might be a mistake . He built a culture and made the Kings who they are today . He built a new training facility , he brought in players and culture now it’s just pathetic homies running the show that don’t know what they’re doing . I just don’t see how a team that has Kempe Pearson Toffoli as secondary scorers is saying they don’t have it . Kovy Kopi Carter . The coach and system suck that’s why they are stationed on the pp while other teams move around and get open and get one timers . Obviously coaching and system has lot to do with it .

Unfortunately this is LA where it cool to go to Kings games and none of the fans will just walk out to prove a point . f*** this sucks . I hate watching them play this bad . It sucks bad and hurts .
