I think we will resign one of Mitchell or Greene (preferably Mitchell at this point) then sign a free agent or work McNabb in the lineup.
Sutter: "You might argue that the best player, other than Kopitar, in the league, is Crosby. So we’ve got to handle him tonight."
Even if Gaborik is resigned, the Kings have a lot of cap space that'd could be used to sign a quality UFA defenseman.

Regular season success must be what's keeping Bylsma his job. Because he cannot coach in high pressure playoff situations.

no matter what I think Greene should look elsewhere. I think he would be a good fit back in Edmonton. DL should offer Mitchell an extension if a deal doesn't get worked out than Greene should still move out.
I am excited about McNabb, and think he can push for a spot.
I think the spot is already his to lose as per waiver rules. He has to be with the club next year but I fully agree with you.
Mitchell needs to come back. you can only have so much finesse on the back end before you get fully away from Kings hockey. His vet presence needs to be there and as I said elsewhere I can't see DL letting Scuderi, Greene, Mitchell all walking in two years span for nothing. McNabb also may need to be insulated or slowly worked in. Plus, you heard the criticism is about his skating, so....
But this team right now is looking as good as ever. I'm excited.
McNabb will be RR v 2.0 but bigger.

This year, the defense has been stellar and the team is back to being just as comfortable on the road than at home. That bodes well.
I also like the fact that the team is playing well on the road. It's reminiscent of the the 2012 team.
However, I'm less optimistic about the team overall than you. Our starting 6 defensemen aren't anywhere near as good as they were during the 2012 cup run, and I don't think Quick is as good either.
McNabb's favorite player as a kid and more is Regehr according to McNabb himself.
And let's not forget the 2012 Kings didn't look like they were going to run anyone over in the week or two leading up to the playoffs, either; we actually put ourselves in the unenviable-at-the-time position of facing the #1 seed Canucks.

I am the only one thinking our defense looks something like this next year
drew muzzin
salva a mart
mcnab rr
Boderchuk
I really think after watching A mart alot closer last game or two. He can pay top 4 defensive side and is more responsble then most think. Just a thought for all you experts to talk about lol
I don't think that would be so far fetched honestly, I just personally don't see DL losing Green/Mitchell at once, and certianly not those two and Scuderi in consecutive years (with RR to follow shortly thereafter).
I'd be shocked if Matt Greene stayed for a number of reasons. I guarantee some bottom feeder like Edmonton will offer him a four year contract which we all know is ridiculous. He's been awesome for us and is a great leader, but we need to move on. He simply isn't going to help this team win anymore. I'm thankful for everything he has done though. A true professional.
