Of all the silly things I've seen about this game, measuring Doughty's worth in goals might be the funniest.
these guys are arguing such dumb shit i'm running out of energy to try

guess this is the "get beat with experience" part of the old saying

Oh gotcha, it's because he's not scoring. How dare he play 30 min a night with a pylon like forbort and get pissed at his teammates for giving up on a shift when he's doing everything he can.

He's one of the few earning his paycheck this year, whether you hate his antics or not.

I'm willing to bet you are too young to have ever seen Gretzky play live. You think drew whines a lot? Gretzky was 3 times worse constantly whining to the refs. Suppose you'd want to have traded him too.
Gretz actually back his whining up and at times carried the Kings.I been watching since 1982 as a very young child.Watched Gretz played his entire time with the Kings.

That's what happens when truth is used, people run out of things to deflect at those posting the facts. Its normal relax.Just cause people may not like what is said doesn't make it not true.

Williams,Stoll,Brown,Kopi and the many other leaders with letters and without never blame others. The difference of true leaders and Doughty.

I've never seen players quit on a shift like I did tonight either. And honestly, when has drew aside from tonight ever called out a teammate? And please for the love of god don't refer to the interviews about not wanting to rebuild.

Doughty is showing leadership. He's passionate. Not gonna blame a guy for that. How many players just skate away with their head down when someone scores an empty net and pack it in until the next day. I would rather have a player fuming for the next game....Leadership isn't always being calm, cool and collected. It's about getting the job done and he's the number one D man on this team for a reason.

The deflection of those trying to make excuses for Doughty are even better.

Just because someone has a different opinion, doesn't mean that it's a deflection. It's just a different opinion. It's not a line item by line item, just a different perspective. I'm okay with someone losing it to change the direction. Sometimes, that's what people need.

Making excuses? This is

So now you're saying drew hasn't ever carried the kings, and as a defensemen to boot. According to you it's a damn shame doughty has an all around game and not just an offensive juggernaut like karlsson.

deflection

like you ignoring me pointing out your misquoting of what doughty said to make some dumb comment about stevens
i love facts.Heres a direct quote from Doughty from that interview and then say I misquoted him lol

My first love will always be L.A.,” he said. “It’s one of the best organizations in all of sports, not just hockey. It’s unbelievable. They treat us first-class, and it’s a good place to play. Living in Los Angeles, you can’t beat it. I’d love to re-sign in L.A. But if our team isn’t going in the right direction ... I want to win Cups. I don’t give a s*** where I play. I just want to win Cups, and that’s the bottom line.” Drew Doughty says he’s open to leaving Kings in 2 years if they’re not a contender

Doesn't sound like I misquoted Doughty. And can post the second interview Doughty did as well if you like?

So where did he throw his teammates under the bus with that comment? Reading comprehension is a valuable tool.

Ducks won. Calgary won.

This is the low point of the season. When you get blown out it can be a fluke. In this game we just got outclassed.

A few more losses in a row and we should be sellers at the deadline.

King fans go get a drink, we all need one after tonight.

Played 2 of the top 3 teams in the league and played very well, just lost. Shit happens. I'd be more concerned if the whole team fell apart but I saw encouraging things in those two games. I know it's not really the time for moral victories, but if we can do that without Carter and Lewis, I'm optimistic.

Maybe I shouldn't be though seeing as we haven't won in Buffalo since fire was invented.

So is comprehension

Which is lacking and it's not on my end. Praises the shit out the organization which includes his teammates, but says they need to stay competitive in order for him to stay. Since you like facts, please enlighten us to the line where he's throwing players under the bus. Here's a hint. You can't.

Tampa hasn't been playing well. They have recent losses to the Oilers and Sabres.

I don't think the Kings did all that great tonight either. They couldn't do diddly poo in the 3rd period when Pittsburgh actually decided to start playing.

Like they did in Carolina. Just never know which team will show up.

Of the games they've lost, they've lost 11 consecutive in regulation. They might have 8 regulation losses left in their season. Of their last 16 losses, 14 have been in regulation. Carter might be back in a week. Lewis maybe a week. 4 games in the next week. 2 good teams, 2 not so good teams.

Who knows what we'll see Saturday. Afternoon, on the road, against a bad team, without their best player. Carter and Lewis may not even matter if they lose a couple more before they get back home. They're pushing the envelope. At least 2 more losses than SJ, Cal, and Ana. Yet their goal differential is better than all 3 combined. Why? Because they lose at home to those 3 teams.

I think we found Jim Fox’s HF account...

All kidding aside, I’m totally expecting this to occur Saturday morning.

That was the start of that 2nd half slide. Possibly less depressing than the 15-16 one. Maybe more depressing, since that was coming off the last 11 games of 2004, heading into the year long lockout. Good times.

This thread has jumped the rails. If you're ragging on Doughty for his outbursts then that's just pretty sad since he looked like one of the few that was busting his ass towards the end. It's fine though carry on, cos he won't be a King much longer and then the fans would be begging for emotion and honesty.

There's nothing insulting about what he said, at the end of the day it's a business and he knows he's in his prime years, he's not gonna wait for the opportunity to win more cups bypass him.

For me I dont care, get blown out okay I get it, not gonna be mad. Try hard and lose not gonna be mad.

But last minute down one goal, and ONLY one player is trying to win the game, I'm f***ing pissed at the way the team looked in the third. Completely disinterested and hung Doughty out to dry in the last minute. That upsets me a lot.
