Why do you always call out anyone who has anything negative to say about Doughty?

I don’t believe anyone is “measuring his worth in goals”

But it would be nice for Doughty to have chipped in more than 1 goal in the last 19 as the teams season kind of fell apart. He isn’t above criticism.

And for those criticizing Doughty, Kopitar and Brown’s leadership and yearning for guys from previous years.

Stoll, Williams, Richards, Regehr and Greene were all on the 2015 team that missed the playoffs.

Stoll and Richards each really showed a ton of leadership each getting busted for drugs.

The Kings aren’t losing because of a lack of leadership they are losing because the roster got old, Voynov messed up and the asset management was handled about as poorly as humanly possible.

This is four years of this, time to stop looking for some deeper reason and realize the roster is flawed and the window is shut. It continues to be mind boggling to turn on the TV everynight and see this roster and how little has really been done in recent years.

Disagreeing isn't trolling.Just cause it doesn't parrot what the majority may or not think isn't trolling.I expressed factical behavior of Doughty.No one can dispute that Doughty whines and complains to the ref's or has his "Typical"outbursts that's all documented throughout Doughtys career.

Do you think Getzlaf is a bad captain?
 
Pearson, 2 goals in 16 games. Brown, 1 in 16. Toffoli, 1 in 15. That's the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th forwards in ice time in the last 15/16 games. Also now the 2nd, 4th, and 5th cap hits up front. Also the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th currently active cap hits up front.

People who criticize defensemen for lack of offensive ability or lack of goals don't actually understand the sport of hockey or how positions work.

You can 'not believe' it all you want, it was quite literally stated directly.

Plenty of reasons to be critical of Doughty, just base them in reality. Pretending as if he hasn't helped the team in 19 games because he's only scored directly once is a complete trainwreck of an argument. Discourse is impossible if you're cherry picking.
 
Kopitar and Getlaf are pretty close in stats both Captains as well.Whats your question SOL?

How did anyone cherry pick Doughty?It was brought up his la k of scoring was one thing,His lack of leadership on the ice complaining and whining and his immature acts as well of the ice.How is that cherry picking?No one ever said Doughty wasn't talented or not these best defensemen in the league just that he is immature and shouldn't be starring down teammates when he acts in such behavior and not chipping in goals himself.

The exact quote was "His 7 million dollar salary is unacceptable when you don't score in 19 games." How is that not cherry picking performance? Want me to show you 50 stats that are contradictory to the idea that Doughty isn't worth 7 million?

This board blows my mind. Kopitar's a bad captain because he's too passive. Doughty's a bad alternate because he's too emotional.

Sorry, I want the best d-man in the league blowing a gasket when he feels his teammates don't want to win as much as he does on any given night. He put his face in front of pucks when 4 other Kings were floating around expecting a goal against. I'd be pissed too and I'm glad he did it frankly. I've almost never seen him lose it on teammates so as long as it's few and far between I'm good with it.

I'm assuming you cherry picked a post and not the entire conversation on this subject that brought up more than Doughtys salary?Bottom line is Doughty shouldn't be a alternate captain.

Nice parry.

It was linked to the idea that with his performance he has no room being critical of fellow players which is far from the truth. If there's anyone on the roster who has the soapbox to be critical of both heart AND performance it's Drew.

No that's his behavior on and off the ice that he shouldn't be pointing fingers or starring down other teammates.His salary isn't matching up with his 8 total goals and 32 assist that's all.

If you think Doughty's performance isn't worth 7 million, there's nothing I can show you that will change your mind.

I also don't understand where this idea that he shows up his teammates all the time comes from but I appreciate it as it's a polar opposite to Kopitar's style, get in their faces once in a while, demand better. I love it.
 
This team...just not good enough.

The organization and fan base pinning their hopes on some kids that haven't even played a game in the NHL in Clague, Vilardi, and Anderson-Dolan.

I remember earlier in the season when everyone was excited about Gaborik's return and how he was really going to tear it up in the Kings "new system". Again, I am going to ask why some want to hang onto some of these vets to the bitter end, when they aren't winning jack with them. The rebuild is inevitable. The sooner it starts the better.

I never questioned his talent, just his behavior and goal scoring.Everything else is great.I hope he excels at defending cause he can't score.
