Well time to break out my "well I will save the cost of playoff tickets mantra :)"

Actually they played a pretty solid game tonight.

My god Gabby half the people in this thread could have buried a couple of those shots.
For a team with a losing streak you cannot give up such a soft goal on the first shot, brutal.

Iafallo has mad skills, hoping next year he breaks out like Kempe did this year.

That penalty against Toffoli was brutal, it was behind the net and the guy out by the freaking read line calls it.

Right now does not seem like Jeff "Carpathia" Carter is not going to arrive in time before the Kings sink

Its supposed to be a good draft year right?

Nice. The Kings will sink, it's a mathematical certainty.

In a few weeks, all of this will be at the bottom of the Pacific Division.

Drew said if the team was competitive he stay. But we'll find out this July.If Kings can't sign him you trade him this off season.

He also said, "I just want to win cups."

Is 5th place in the Pacific Division considered to be competitive?

Refs let the game get away from them. Pens knew they weren't getting called for anything. Hell, on the Brown clip, you can see Letang spear Brodzinski. And to let all of that go only to have the back ref kill the game on the Toffoli call...awful.

Malkin cannot come to the west coast without doing something major-worthy and getting away with it and I'm ****ing tired of it.

Even before Toffoli got his bs tripping call, he was tripped right in front of the net and it was let go. Rooney had a great view of that.

If you move Carter then you move the whole core and get what you can.

Kopitar, Quick, and Brown aren't going to be traded for. Gaborik wouldn't be either, but if they're rebuilding, might as well ride out his contract until it's done or he retires, since a buyout just leaves unnecessary dead cap space in future years. Carter, Toffoli, Pearson, Muzzin, Martinez, and maybe Lewis could get you something. Other than that, everyone is either cheap or young, so no rush there.

I thought the wake up was firing Sutter and Lombardi giving the players everything they wanted ?

Keeping Stevens was a bad idea all along. They needed a totally new coaching staff.Even I said that I wasn't sure it was the right choice.I still think Stevens should be a assist coach not a head coach.

The worst part about the losing streak is that now the Doughty talk starts up again. I'd trade him today for a conditional 12th round pick if that would stop it.

One issue that hasn't gone away since 2015/16; is losing 50/50 puck battles far too much. The emotion is not there the (Fire).

Sutter "You can't coach emotion into players"

Not that they were going to stay on a 5-0-1 pace, but they were 5-0-1 with Carter. Again, other than home games against the Pacific, this team, with or without Carter, has done alright. I know I can't explain the difference between those 7 games, and the other 38 they've played.

Probably comes down to money like it always does. If the Kings are willing to make Doughty the Highest paid Defender or player in the NHL, Doughty will most likely stay.

Doughty is gonna do what he is gonna do, would not spend too much time worrying about it.
Kings can give him an extra year vs other teams, don't under estimate the power of getting paid 11 million dollars for a year more than anyone else can offer.

No not even close, it was time to fire Sutter.

But now the players own it. Lets not let the players slide.

That’s fair and I agree, the one issue I’ve had with this slump has been the clear lack of effort and energy and it’s the same frustration year after year. It gets tiresome watching these slumps every season and it’s usually the same group of guys who go into hibernation this time of the year. Problem is I dunno if Stevens is the guy that will actually hold players accountable, he seems a little too player friendly in this regard

I 100% agree.

I seem to remember Kings leaders saying Stevens was more friendly approach the players requested for. Well now you own it Kings players.

In the last few pressers, Stevens has gotten really salty when talking about lack of effort. At least we know Stevens is not pleased with some guys.

Someone needs to slap Toffoli across the face and tell him the 5 day break ended a week ago. He was a f***ing mess every shift tonight and the previous 4 games.

Looks like a player suffering from being out of shape. I wonder if his injury last year affected his off-season training.

Oh yeah, it pretty obvious who he's talking about, starting with Toffoli.

Turn out the lights, the party's over. I'll give the Kings credit for the start of the season. They played some exciting hockey, scored some goals and looked amazing for the majority of the season. Then the Kings team I was expecting all along showed up and now it's back to not being fun being a Kings fan, the games are dreadful to watch. All perimeter play, not a single forward on the roster has the ability to dangle a defensemen or put on any kind of move around a goalie minus Kempe and he's glued to the bench due to nerd hockey stats. Puck possession minus the ability to score goals equals losing hockey. It's a new formula I've come up with, I call it the Shoresi Rating. Now is the time where we can finally see what Blake is made of, hopefully he can do better than this summers haul in free agency which is why we are here. Time to trade out from under the redundancy on this roster.
