Not really understanding the heat for the penalties the Sabres have taken so far. I missed the Jost one, but the Bryson one was completely on him and unnecessary considering the puck was already knocked away from McGinn, and Mittelstadt hit Rakell well after the puck got away from him. Refs called them properly.

They probably missed a couple on the Pens, but overall I haven't seen anything egregious.

The mitts one was clean af, dude got the puck, fumbled it, pushed it forward and got crushed reaching out about 1 stride after pushing it.

I get that Skinner gets the 5 for the cross-check to the face. But the slash to Anderson, the slash, crosscheck and punch to Skinner only result in 1 penalty to the pens?

Why not double minor to the pens, 5 min major for Skinner? Pens eventually get the PP, but it would have felt accurate.

Either way, dumb cross-check by Skinner.

You just know he’s gonna get 2+ games too. You slash a dude in the head and it’s chill, but this is Skinner and they can always point to the Matthews 2-gamer (as though that wasn’t a huge outlier because they’re embarrassed to show what their league actually is in prime time).
