The part that bothered me was Guentzel slashed Anderson, then skated away, Jeff said something, Guentzel then slashed him, Jeff slashed him back, Guentzel throws a cross check and Skinner went full Tyson and the. Guentzel rabbit punches him while down. Guentzel escalated every action that occured on that play. The fact that Jeff got a minor and a major is baffling while Guentzel got a single minor.

Honestly I saw Skinner with two for a slash, two for a cross check, and the five minute major. And Guentzel for two for slashing and a double cross check. So I was fine with the Pens being on the PP but it shoulda been a 3 minute one. But the NHL doesn’t do shit that way.

Just because Skinner hurt Guentzel it doesn't absolve Guentzel from all his actions. I am not sure why Mogilny feels it does

It is. But the NHL rescindes them often. Because it’s not too often an NHL player tries to do that. They really only keep that a thing if it’s obvious it’s intentional
