kempe isn't known for being a defensive stalwart. miss an assignment in OT, you're in the showers.

Lewis is the heart and soul of this team.

If they ever get rid of him they will be making a huge mistake.

Brodz had a good game, maybe he just wants to reward effort because we don't have a ton of that.

I’m more concerned with winning games while the team is in a slump rather than rewarding effort. Brodz had a good game which is a good sign, still don’t agree with him shooting over others in the shootout, where was Brown’s reward for the game tying goal?

I was wrong about Jokinen, but still keeping Toffoli and Kempe off the ice in those situations is not going to win us many games.

Yeah I’ll eat my crow regarding Jokinen, but keeping Kempe glued to the bench in OT and the shootout wasn’t smart, one of the few offensively driven players on the team he needs to be on the ice at least in OT

What's TT like in shootouts, though? He's not that good if memory serves correctly. He's a game situation sniper but that's different than a breakaway contest. Same reason a guy like Jussi (or the other JJ--jack johnson) is great in shootouts but meh the rest of the time.

But I totally agree, man, I'd love to see Kempe unleashed in OT at some point, especially since the OT games have been such a tire fire lately anyway. He has the speed to just steal ice from the other team or to recover position as well.

Starting to hate the way teams play 3v3 now though, it's just playing vs. line changes and trying to get people tired.

damn its true Kopitar pretty much jedi mind tricked Miller in the net without touching him

Yup haven't seen the Kopitar cutback move in ages. Have to think Ryan Miller was looking for the can opener or a backhand period.

I get it if that's the case but this was against a division rival, you put the experts in. Kings are not doing well against western teams, it's not the right time to test out the new kids

I can understand that. This is the coach that continues to play AA. We will probably never know his thoughts.

What don't we like? Another one goal scored at home. I think I've been to like six or seven games this month and seen 10-11 goals. Took almost 60 minutes and the goalie pulled to get one tonight.

Awesome power play in OT. Quick beat but shot hits the post in the shootout.

Way more negatives than positives tonight. Toss in last night's debacle and, excuse me, but oh my.

Being excited about 3 points in 4 games is ignoring the long play. Glad they got them, but they look like total shit.

I think your right in regards to Toffoli in the shootout, but I didn’t see him out there much in OT either. Kempe/Toffoli or Kempe/Pearson can cause a defense some serious problems in 3v3. I don’t know why Kempe is so deep in the doghouse, I know their line has been struggling but they were a big part of the offense when the team was winning games after Carter went down, they will be fine if Stevens gives them the ice time.

Also 33 minutes of ice time for Doughty tonight, yikes!

Brutal road trip coming up, it will be interesting to see how the team responds.

Another thing Carter brought to the team . With 8,11,77, they're deadly. Steven seems to almost put a leash on them now and play a very conservative 3v3 instead of the way Sutter did.

he plays his most defensibly responsible players in OT, it's not much of a departure from his general "rules"
