I think both teams were trying to psych the other out with the shootout choices, selecting someone whose never been seen before against a team you play so much etc... Ended badly for both teams but you could see what they were doing.

Ducks have been choking away games for a while.
Too many injuries means top guys are tired by the end of the game.
( just an excuse)

I think the Kings played well all game, and Miller stood on his head. Forbort and others had some big break downs. But solid game.

Don't know why people are mad at this game.

IN before Hot Seat comment.

I've liked Brodz' game, frankly. Someone asked earlier for positives and I was going to mention him but I didn't want to jinx it. He's playing with some grit and jump and confidence, more than about 75% of the roster right now. He's got a long way to go, but he's not that dude that was completely lost at the end of camp.

JJ is well known for scoring goals in SO, he has the numbers. That I was ok with, though I did question Brodz and Lewis (even though he scored)

Fair point with JJ, still when you have Toffoli, Kempe, Brown in your stable and you go with Lewis and Brodz, your asking for trouble

Well damn,we found the missing championship piece.lol

Definitely not but bringing in a career 50 point player who can play every forward position and do well on faceoffs while being a SO specialist for the cost of a healthy scratch is a pretty good move is it not?

Edit: we obviously expect him to be in scoring decline at this point in his career but you know what I mean. He's versatile and keeps Dowd out of the lineup at a point when we're bleeding goals without scoring.

I was annoyed with Iafallo being paired with Kopi in the SO, like pair him with Pearson or Toffoli! It's overtime don't experiment, stick the goal scorers together. I hated some of the pairings.

Yeah, I don't get it. The Kings werent bad.

But have you heard, Blake might be on a seat... A seat that might be hot.

I kind of agree, but this game didn't happen in isolation. If it did, I doubt anyone would be that miffed, we'd probably be singing their praises for pulling off a comeback, but coming off losing 6 of 7 or whatever, I can see why the bias is towards the negative.

I was more shocked no Kempe. Plenty of other horses to go though

jokinen is a known shootout specialist, brodzinski is being rewarded for his effort

maybe an NHL coach knows a thing or two.

I was wrong about Jokinen, but still keeping Toffoli and Kempe off the ice in those situations is not going to win us many games.

Yeah I’ll eat my crow regarding Jokinen, but keeping Kempe glued to the bench in OT and the shootout wasn’t smart, one of the few offensively driven players on the team he needs to be on the ice at least in OT
