It's not the breakouts so much as it is the zone entries, they just can't do it.they break out ok most of the time...but they can't enter the offensive zone if all 5 opponents were on the bench....it's brutal

I see them as one and the same. If they cant make two consecutive passes to get into the zone, or have 4 guys just standing still, like on the last pp, it fails bigtime. Brown had no options skating it into the zone, and was forced into making a move because the other guys just stopped at the blueline.

kings need to go back to basics i think. offensive zone entry? dump and chase. this team isnt creative or skilled enough to carry the puck in. 20 games is a large enough sample size in my opinion

I'm sorry but anyone who thinks Forbort or Phaneuf are making the roster of a playoff team has to have their eyes checked. Phaneuf had a great career but he just can't keep up anymore. Anyone remember when Dave Babych finished his career with the Kings? That's what it feels like.
I don’t think it’s fair to compare Forbort to Dion as to the value to the team. Forbort is a decent PK, and teams need them.

I agree. There can be coordinated timing to the dump and chase zone entry if practiced enough. Of course Drew would hesitate at the red line thinking he has an opening and then studder step and then finally dump and put Carter and Toffoli offside by 4 feet

Forbort needs time in the press box to sit and watch or a fresh start somewhere else.

If it’s the trade route, then deal him for a guy who’s in the same type of situation as him.

Maybe somewhere like Montreal for Nikita Scherbak or Michael McCarron. :dunno:

ok gonna ask again, would we be better with Ladue in instead of Forbort?
No. We have to kill penalties also, and he’s way more valuable than LaDue. LaDue has to beat out DD for a spot. However, there is no reason why Dion plays instead of LaDue. And this also puts Fantenberg on the left side.

Dump it at that point...he had the speed to go get it...but to your point, they aren't one in the same, a team can break out fine, but not get into the offensive zone, that doesn't mean the breakout sucks etc....

Honestly **** the Nashville fans chanting at Peterson, this team being trash isn't his fault

Haha, that's not really the point of that. If he can't take some fan chants, regardless of how crappy the team is, then he's not going to be able to take over for Quick.

That 3rd period felt like Game 7 against Colorado in 2001. It was close, and then someone in the Nashville room probably said, that is the worst team in the league out there, they're happy just being in the game, we need to finish it. Then they owned the 3rd.

Pretty much.
