Quit crying, young players model their games after the league's current top players, it's always been that way. Matthews has an infamous wrist shot, so it's not a bad theory that kids today want to shoot pucks like him.

it's a special combination of low skill but even worse low energy. No big hits and slow in on the forecheck. They should be skating their butts off for 40 seconds as they roll lines. Bunch of puck watching

The forecheck is totally nonexistent. It is a special combination of just not good enough. Low skill and low energy is about right.

Some of these guys look like they’re playing a regular season game on a Tuesday night rather than elevating for the World Juniors. Lots of soft perimeter play, no forecheck, no fighting to get into the hard spots on the ice, etc.

It’s unacceptable and very frustrating to watch. Not playing at all the way a Canadian team should.

It’s definitely not the only way he scores but it’s definitely one of the tools he uses to get those high scoring totals.
