I agree, they are definitely trending in the right direction and are looking like a more complete team. But it was Igor, Fox and Kreider until 2 weeks ago. I don’t think that would’ve been different with Quinn. Would he play Georgiev more? Probably but that might be an extra loss or two. Don’t think we’d be anywhere near the bottom.
Maybe I’m expecting too much from a hockey forum and am taking the over exaggeration too literally. But I can’t see this team being bottom 5 in the East whether it were Quinn or Gallant coaching. I think Igor will be a top 5 goalie moving forward and has proven he can carry the team on his back. He’s making me believe he’ll be on Henrik’s level at some point. It’s to early to say with what could go wrong but he’s so good. We might not have to worry about goalie for another 10+ years. We’re very fortunate.
We probably don't get this start from Kreider under Quinn.
Not to mention Howden is still probably here and he would have probably done some goofy shit with the lines and we wouldn't even had the semblance of stability that we have with our lines right now (theres been some tweaking here and there, but the units have primarily been the same for a while.)
Extra loss or 2 or 3 depending on how many extra starts he would have given Geo (He would have 100% started him on the Island and who knows how that game would have gone with Geo in net), and then a few others in close games that this team has pulled out. Quinn's Rangers wouldn't have come back and won in Ottawa and they sure as hell would have found a way to blow it in Boston.
