Devils need a winger with a scoring touch in the top six and at the very least some center depth for lines 3/4.

If Haula continues to struggle out of the break, then the center option might need to be someone capable of giving you solid third line minutes.

Ideal acquisitions would be Bjorkstrand/Palmieri/Rakell + Gourde.

I’m not 100% sold that the Devils are going to go all-in on rentals or win now this year. I think they press hard for a short and long term solution like McCann or Rakell. If that falls through, I wouldn’t be surprised to see them settle for 2-3 cheaper forward depth options like Nyquist, Beauvillier, Suter, and Bjugstad rather than the big names. Build a team that’s 4 lines deep and hope you find a spark somewhere for chemistry.

Rakell for your 2026 unprotected 1st and a cap dump would work out find for us.

Would take Haula back as cap dump in an Evans trade, sounds like his days in Montreal are numbered

What the Jets need is a true 2C and top 4 RHD upgrade
What the Jets will get is a bottom pairing LHD like Dumoulin or bottom pairing RHD depth and possibly a 3C like Laughton…maybe depth bottom 6 wingers also, depending on cost.

Available picks are any ‘25 picks, and ‘26 and beyond 2nds - 7ths
Available prospects are any not named Yager, Salomonsson, or Lambert unless getting a proven 2C or top 4 RHD with term, (preferably youngish)…ie; Bennett, Dobson, etc
Available players are possibly Perfetti, (in a deal for a true 2C or top 4 RHD), Barron, possibly one of Kupari or Gustafsson, maybe Ehlers if he has let it known he won’t extend in WPG or is asking to much, Heinola, maybe Stanley but unlikely, other non core players are possible.

Not available are any of our roster players who are contributing production and likely to help in the playoff run. (any with a * could be moved if they have refused to extend or are asking to much)
Scheif
Connor
Vilardi
Ehlers *
Niederreiter
Lowry
Namestnikov *
Morrissey
DeMelo
Samberg
Pionk
I think they might go for the Laughton + Ristolainen special honestly

Risto is absolutely NOT what WOG needs and would be a total waste of assets to acquire and cap to pay…but, yeah…seems like a Chevy move

Interesting that you say anyone contributing is unavailable, but above that you say Perfetti is possibly available.

Perfetti is 5th in Jets forward scoring this year, runs pp2 and has 11 points in last 12 games during the 8 game winning streak.

Honestly unless someone comes out of left field I think the list of better available options is very short. Savard? Not much else
If they’re not an upgrade on what we already have, it’s not what we need…Risto, Savard, etc..just expensive bottom pairing D in WPG

Could see him over in a deal for a true 2C, assuming the org knows Ehlers will be staying.

Frankly, I’m not sure the Devils would be willing to do that, but value isn’t terrible.

Hard pass on Evans here. Feels like he’s an above average 4C having a career year.

I’m not entirely convinced he gives the Devils anything more than a healthy Haula would either. If Devils are trading for a 3C, they need a legit 3C who can borderline play 2C minutes.

Jets greatness needs are in priority are IMO:

2C upgrade, this IMO is most important by far. Mark 1C, TBD 2C, Lowry 3C and Names 4C

3 pairing LHD upgrade, replace Stanley, he's really a 8th Dman

4th line winger/top 4 or top 6 RHD upgrade, these IMO are not important

Cozens?

:bruinsupdated

Needs to be filled at deadline, draft and free agency...
#1C (or high-end center prospect)
Top6 W
Top4 D

Trade Bait...
Brandon Carlo (RHD making $4.1m for 2 more years)
Charlie Coyle (2/3 C making $5.25m this year and next)
Trent Frederic (3LW / 3C / 3RW making $2.3m, UFA)
Justin Brazeau (3LW / 3RW making $775k, UFA)
Georgi Merkulov (LW/C point per game AHL'er)

Makes sense. Thanks for the reply.

I mean, under normal circumstances, that's a really nice offer. It's just they are in an odd spot that the usual futures type deals are not as helpful unless they had some sort of chain set up where it's Cozens->prospect->other established NHLer. And that's messy and seems unlikely to happen, especially with the slow moving twit helming the Sabres.

My reply was genuine. What you replied made sense.
