For us to have any chance at coming back in this series he is going to have to do a lot of things he has not shown all year. Mainly, bench vets like Nemeth and Reeves, and give the kids more minutes. The kids are the only players I trust in this series based on the first 4 games.

Better chance of Jesus coming back to play 1C than Gallant ever changing the way he does things.

Gallant has had a rough series to say the least. His matchups and insistence on playing Nemeth have been such a detriment to the team.

You need your top goalie to step up and make more saves the IS is making. Some of them are just bad and his positioning is off. One of those goals was on Fox (who I normally think is awesome).

With the way IS is playing, I think you need to give Gorg a try. You can't let in 6 goals in 30 shots.

Turk looks completely overmatched and this team looks very much like the team did towards the end of AV's tenture here. They are a much more skilled group so that does hide deficiencies, but there is definitely an aura of the entitled country club creeping back into things. People shit on cally and dubi a lot but those were the kind of heart, grind players with attitude that this group completely lacks. This team COULD battle, but they have chosen to quit and look completely defeated since game three. No pride at all, and I think Kreider expressed that in his post game interview after game 3

Whom do people want as this team's 947th coach?

Trotz? Torts? Hitler?

Bag skate them. Yell at them. Give them swirlies. Who cares about what the CBA allows?

No coach can succeed with leaders who do not lead.

I'd take Quennville or Trotz ( as long as we don't play like the Islanders )

I really just want a X's and O's coach.

Hiring Quenneville, a facilitator of a sex criminal, would violate my personal morals to such an extent that I can't be sure I'd be able to continue to support the team.

My point is just that we are way too quick to keelhaul coaches instead of insisting on more player accountability. It's why we have no coach of the year winners and one cup per f***ing lifetime.

I'd give Gallant one more year to show what he's got. Although Trotz and his defensive structure are exactly what this team needs, I dont believe Drury would give up on Gallant after the regular season he just had. If the Rangers make the playoffs next year and dont get out of the first round, then that could mean the end of Gallant as NYR coach.

That said I realistically think the Rangers win Game 5 at home but lose Game 6 in Pittsburgh. Shesterkin is clearly rattled because he has stopped those deflection goals this year more often than not. His body language on the 6th Penguin goal last night says it all as he kept sliding after the goal was scored. Yes the defense in front of him has been atrocious but they have been bad for strecthes during the regular season too and Shesty has bailed them out. The defensemen arent gonna do a 180 and start playing sound positionally in 48 hours.

If Gallant wants to get on the side of the fans before the offseason begins you bench Nemeth in favor of Lindgren (if healthy enough) or Jones and and put Hunt back in if Goodrow and Motte are unavailable. That 4th line better go out with a bang and beat up the Penguins like they did in the 1st Period of Game 1. Literally a week ago at the beginning of Game 1 the Rangers looked like they were gonna destroy the Penguins.

Kreider-Zibanejad-Vatrano
Panarin-Strome-Copp (could be Strome and Copp's final game as Rangers)
Lafreniere-Chytil-Kakko
Hunt-Rooney-Reaves (this line better hit everything in sight all game long regardless of the score)

Lindgren/Jones-Fox
Miller-Trouba
Braun-Schneider

Start Igor

If he starts Nemeth tomorrow eve we should be worried that nothing will change next year if Nemeth is still on the roster

Who would you rather him matchup against Crosby- Strome's line, The Kid line or the 4th line? Seriously, if you want him to change- who should he matchup instead??? The only viable option he had, Goodrow is out for the series. But please continue to take shots at the coach when he has limited viable options.

Too soon to change coaches. Give him and Drury one more year. This team went from barely above .500 to 110 points. That is progress.

All any sane, mature fans want is progress from one season to the next, and we have clearly made progress. What is very quick to frustrate people is when we take one step forward when we are fully capable of taking two.

It's just a shame the Penguins continue to plague our division.

Does it matter? What he's doing now clearly isn't working. Would it somehow get worse? Try something different.

YES it would matter!! See this is why I don't take you seriously. You are killing Gallant all over this board but then when asked to propose something else you just say " Can't get any worse." No it can-- it very much can!!! He's only got so many actual options.

It's very easy to crush the guy without offering any actual steps he can realistically take.

One of the benefits of switching up D pairs throughout the season is that different guys get used to eachother. You gotta wonder if Fox would be having a better series if he had gotten regular season exposure to other partners outside of Lindgren

Fox & Lindgren aren't the worst offenders, but going into next year its time to start splitting up the BFFs. Strome will almost certainly be a goner, but maybe its time to see if Kreider & Mika get back to playing a more straight ahead game on separate lines. I think these guys are too comfortable in their niche.

This team needs a bonafide captain and there isn’t anyone on the roster worthy of the C.
I’d be extremely open to trading Panarin for a 1C worthy of the captaincy.

Gallant dying on the Nemeth hill is pretty lame. What does Zac Jones need to do to get an opportunity? It wont ultimately mean anything in the grand scheme but why not make a bold move at this point? So frustrating
