Gallant has a case for the Jack Adams this year, but I genuinely don't see any way he wins it with the jobs Andrew Brunette and Darryl Sutter have done this year.

I can see Gallant being a finalist, but yeah. I think Darryl Sutter will win it. Brunette basically took over Q and the Panthers didn't skip a beat.

One thing I've noticed from Turk's pressers is that he's ultra complimentary of other teams. He's not like Torts who will throw his team under the bus and say there's no excuse to lose.

I'm not sure which is the better tactic, TBH.

To me it comes off as relaxed and professional. But maybe his team, or some of them feel differently?

Torts is fun to watch, but he's not what I would call professional.

All I ask is to please stop sending the 4th line out for offensive zone draws. The top 3 lines need to be taking OZ faceoffs. The 4th line is supposed to be able to handle DZ faceoffs. Everything else is fine.

actually, was noticing this Tuesday, and was fine with it,
most times the 4L guys kept puck deep, and made Pitt work,
setting up the situation for the next guys off the bench

that 3rd period by itself is a great indicator of why he gets fired all the time.

a master class in dog shit.

Gallant prefers bigger, less high risk defenseman like most coaches. Jones was never gonna be a regular unless he played like a star. Forget about Zac Jones.

Just say bigger. There's nothing "less high risk" about Patrik Nemeth my man. He might be the worst player in the league.

He is a lower risk defenseman in the sense that he won't even attempt to make the sort of plays that Jones or similar players would. But yeah overall that's fair. It sucks but is what it is.

I doubt it, but either the guy likes Georgiev way more than he should or he's just a very good politician. I'm not even blaming him for pulling Igor today it was well earned.
Penguins dangle , drop pass and slide through our blueline unmolested and usually get a shot on net or two . Our club starts to struggle at our own blueline on a breakout with the first problem being nobody wants the puck !!! Then when we do find a guy to move it up ice he usually gets caught by 2-3 Penguin forwards either at the red line and if not by then ....then they get all out of sync at the Pen line . Either Panarin is looking to make the cross ice pass while everybody is slowing down so no off side....or a Pen has us tied up and we have the play all bogged down again. We are too slow . Sure do miss Tony D on the breakouts .

This team has had 8 coaches in the last 20 years. Who out there do people want instead? At what point do we realize it's our scouting, drafting, and management that are deficient?

At the end of the day, the Rangers failures fall on the same guy as the Knicks failures... and that is none other than the biggest piece of shit in the universe James Dolan.
I wish someone would out his internal communications. Guaranteed that his emails would make Donald Sterling look like Mother Theresa.

The 2005-06 reboot/reset is the place to start IMHO.

Renney from them until 2009
Torts from 2009-213
AV from 2013-2018
Quinn from 2018-2021
Gallant 2021-present.

That's really not that bad. It's more "crapping on the Rangers to crap on the Rangers".

Who are your top 5 owners?

Here's how I am evaluating Gallant:

He wasted a year of our number one overall franchise player's career.

He got completely out coached in the playoffs.

He lost control of his players in the playoffs.

The team won 50 games and had over 100 points, and got completely embarrassed in round one.

Trotz just became available. I'd seriously consider overpaying Trotz to come on as an assistant. Coach the defense. Give structure to the team. Gallant can take that anyway He wants. If he poops the bed to start the season, fire him and Trotz takes over.

Unless Carolina loses in round one and fires Rod the bod for some reason.

In all of sports?
Tough one.

Mark Cuban. Dude would do anything to win a championship.. but guys just don’t want to play there… even though the mavs have arguably the best facilities in the NBA. If Cuban owned the Knicks they’d be perennial contenders.

Peter holt of the spurs. Just the epitome of a well run franchise

John Henry of the Red Sox. Saw what Billy Beane did and knew it was the future and went all in.

Mario Lemieux as much as I hate him has been a very effective NHL owner taking his team from near relocation to what it is today.

And the guy who owns Manchester City who’s name I will not google right now because I’m lazy. Took them from perennial cellar dweller to one of the best clubs in Europe
