The Rangers have had one 3 game losing streak all season, two of the losses being OT losses in that stretch. They're allowed an 0-1-1 stretch even if it's GASP against bad teams. What about the stretch of us winning our last 4 games against strong playoff teams?
It's not even 0-1-1, it's 1-1-1 because we beat Detroit sandwiched between the Isles and Flyers losses.

Look, I'm as frustrated as anyone when they come out slow or have a poor start but it's really more just in the moment anger. You take a step back and we have far exceeded expectations this year standings wise, we're in 5th place in the whole league.

We have more comeback wins than any team in the league and the most in franchise history. Our special teams are winning us games, Kreider is about to score 50, we have only have 1 losing streak of more than 2 games all season. I believe our record after a loss is 16-2-4 or something stupid like that.

Gallant isn't perfect and he has his share of blindspots, just like all NHL coaches do, but this is a results based business and you can't argue with results. And now late in the season the results are uneven but the process as gotten much better making a playoff run not seem to hinge 1000% on Igor alone anymore.

No, the Flyers and Isles losses were the last two games. Your memory is going.

This is HF Boards and rational takes aren't allowed.

Outrage is the only way. Every coach is better than our coach until they become our coach.

You know this and you choose to post that anyway?

This whole resting Adam Fox thing and making excuses that he's tired is ridiculous. He's 24 years old. Cale Makar and Devon Toews are playing 27-28 minutes a night. Fox isn't playing nearly that much. If he's truly as good as we pumped him up to be, this excuse is truly getting to be ridiculous now, with no bias whatsoever.
okay, says you. Wouldn't be the 1st time a star player has sat the bench for a game, right prior to the PO's. My (and prob whomever said the same are not "babying" him) thinking that he isnt constructed physically like Makar specifically and for all we know, he may have a nagging injury. He hasnt played very well for a month now. So, whatever it takes to make your boat float.

He coaches the New York Rangers.

No answer will satisfy him. He’s starting from the premise that their record is entirely Igor. He can’t be convinced otherwise.

I see a team that is night and day from last year. They stick up for each other. They are physical. They don’t fold like a cheap suit if they go down 1-2 goals. Their special teams at both ends are worlds better. They have not had any prolonged losing streaks and their record after losses is stellar, despite cherry-picked examples of two game losing streaks. I am not saying Gallant is the best coach in the league. I am not even saying he is top five. But he does deserves some praise. It is not all Igor.

You literally got so offended by what I said and instead ran with your own narrative of him possibly being hurt. The Rangers are resting Igor, not rushing Strome, Kakko or Rooney back, so how would they let Fox play if he wasn’t 100% with the playoffs looming? Come on, dude

This team has shown great character and does in no way resemble a team being carried by a goaltender playing at Igors level - like the '05 Rangers. That was a team that was all Lundqvist and Jagr. This team is so many lightyears ahead of that team, to suggest its all Igor is just shortsighted at best.

Everyone here is right. GG is liked by the guys, particularly the vets who he favors. Igor has played a large role in our success. GG has still done many things right.

BENCHING LAF AT THE END OF EVERY GAME ISN'T IT. Fix that and don't make stupid decisions with Kakko and i'll happily jump on the GG bandwagon.
So.......many on here were saying that Laf played one of his best games yet...........immediately after the games he was supposedly benched in the 3rd for a a few games...........hmmm.

If you mean the negative takes you are SOOOOO right !
Yes, the excessive negative takes. Sure we all have our times when we disagree with a coach's decision. But fans tend to want to run teams as if it's 23 robots with no emotion, endless stamina, etc. Like video games. I'd like to see these hacks try to deal with a room full of real people.

Exactly, it's a room full of real people and decisions are are much more complex than what some on here see. This team under Gallant is no longer soft and they no longer give up easily. I'll take that.

So you agree it was weird that he was benched in that game? Your take doesn't prove your point.

Honestly, I should probably give him a break from the standpoint of Georgiev not giving us a chance to win, despite everything he's won 5 in a row. That said I'm really not a fan of Igor not getting regular starts in. I don't think he's been playing worse because of fatigue but rust. I really don't like Georgiev getting this many games I don't think it bodes well for the postseason.

Can we really complain about this guy? If anyone told you the rangers would be 5th in the league within striking distance of 3rd at this point in the season before the season started, we‘d be getting ready to build the statue for Gallant outside MSG

When Kakko comes back and Laf-Chytil-Kakko is our 4th line just like it was under Quinn, I will complain.

Just giving everyone fair warning.

okay, youre prob right, but it is also fathomable to think especially down all those players they cant afford him to be out as well.
okay, my narrative, I am okay with that. No harm, no foul, sorry.

Don't think he doesn't want to hoist the Stanley Cup more than anyone. Aside from nearly being able to as a coach in Las Vegas, Turk played in Detroit right before those incredible Red Wings teams with Yzerman, Federov, Shanahan, Lidstrom, etc.

He isnt perfect and this team has its warts, but we are not jockeying with Carolina for 1st in the division if Quinn is still coaching this team. I wish I was seeing more out of the kids, I wish this team was a stats darling to backup the record, I wish a lot of things, but this is the best season in a long time

They've been a stats darling since the deadline. They showed a stat against the Pens that we had the fewest chances against in the league since the deadline.

I've accepted that every coach hates offensive players unless they hit a certain points threshold. That's just part of the sport's culture. They'd rather you lumber around and do things-n-stuff than score 35 points. It sucks that, right now, that's going to affect players I'd like to develop long-term, but it is what it is. No other coach would be doing anything differently.
