Man, people were pissed at this guy, and maybe they had a point, but maybe he was right?

He wants to change the lines, that's fine. These lines looked pretty good. Good on GG. Last game he benched Laf. Not the first time he's done that. Laf is pretty good and getting better. He was wrong. Something good today doesn't excuse the Laf stupidity.

Also, benching Reeves and starting Schneider was a big part of today. If GG is willing to keep doing things like that, many of us will stop complaining.

I wasn't happy with the benching eiter, but we don't really know what Gallant has been asking laf to do, maybe it's something he's continually asking him and he isn't doing it and he finally had to send him a message.

I mean, he's put Reeves on line 1 over Laf before when the team played poorly. Laf is in the middle of the best stretch of his career. We can praise GG for many things while also admitting his treatment of Laf and Kakko at different times this season during good stretches has been odd.

Now, Suburban Phoenix. Then, Long Island
A while ago, I posted that Gallant was trying to stretch his talent to cover every line. At that point the Rangers were short 2-3 NHL caliber forwards. IT's something I saw happen all the time in the minor leagues. It's a real skill to coach a winning team when you are short a couple of bodies.

That situation has been addressed and now you are seeing the results. Well done by Drury to give Gallant the depth he needs to succeed. I really like this roster and I think things bode very well for the Rangers over the next three months.

Bump for benching Laf for the millionth time but playing Brodzinski. Also for that fantastic Nemeth-Braun pairing that he liked so much he played Fox and Trouba for 25 minutes each. GG has the midas touch.

What obsession? He's the 2nd best center on this team. Well, now with Copp he has some competition but prior to the deadline he was EASILY the 2nd best.
Strome had a game where he took 2 penalties with 1 second left for no reason. He saw no changes to ice time. Nothing.
Strome has to play on this team. That's obvious. But if GG is gonna preach trying to win and all that nonsense but he only benches Laf and the 4th line, it rings a little hollow, don't you think?

A 50-point center getting a longer leash than a 30-point winger? Yeah, that's very normal in the NHL.

The way they played that game? It was an abortion. That was one of the least structured games I've seen this team play...ever. it was total pond hockey bullshit.
The problem was that fox kept jumping into the rush, and forwards werent covering. They kept pushing to generate offense, and the flyers kept jumping the zone early, so we gave up huge breakaways.
We generated a ton of weak chances but had a ton of posession too.
We had a mediocre game, but it was nothing like the islanders game. We do look tired though.

Shoot out loss is laying another egg? Um ok.
Shootout loss to one of the worst teams in the league playing the second half of a back to back where they only played one decent period out of three most certainly is. If you don’t think it is you gotta raise your standards because that’s pretty low.

Playoffs were the goal this year. Team is still fighting for 1st place. People not satisfied with pedigree first year coach. I love this board.
What does he actually coach, could you tell me? Between his team getting embarrassed by the Islanders and this last game, what exactly did he do to get them ready to play better? Looks like nothing.

is this 50 First Dates?
4th most points in NHL forgotten?
what you just saw is the whole world?

it's an 82 game season, not 1 week ...

who do you miss more, AV or Quinn?

Igor. People like to spew these things as if the Rangers points total isn’t 90% because of the goaltender.
