According to insider information, NHL 16 only has one game mode, and that is the HONDA XPERIENCE (c) THE STANLEY CUP FINALS - Powered by Comcast. It features whichever teams make the Cup Finals, has no adjustable difficulties or line changes and a period length is fixed to 3 minutes. In case the game ends in a tie, you go directly into a shootout, where EA can show off their Total Stick Control (c). It allows you to control the stick with PS Move or Kinect, but requires a special EA Authenstick, available at a merchant near you for a reasonable price of $129.99*

*Stick tape not included, available as a skin-pack in various colors for $19.99/roll.

Of course, the Total Stick Control is only usable by star players, marked with a special star that marks them as true star players, the stars of the team. With them, you can pull off incredible moves that might look similar to the ones that have been in game since 2007, but don't be fooled - the all-new animations increase their efficiency by up to 1.25%!

Of course, the shootout seldom comes into play, because at the start of the game, the opposite goalie gets mysteriously injured due to falling through the ice into nothingness, and the backup goalie gets stuck trying to leave the bench, because the pads won't fit through the opening. This causes multiple fast calculations which overheat the system, causing it to spontaneously burst into flames.

And people would still buy it.

This was great. Thanks for that.:handclap:

Sadly, after the first paragraph I still wasn't sure if you were kidding yet....I have low expectations.

Glad I gave up on that franchise couple years ago, should have done it sooner. It's becoming or maybe is already even worse than CoD. Almost the same game every year, except EA also manages to actually make some things worse.

Says a lot how far the NHL series has tumbled... The thread is called "NHL 15 & other..." and there is barely ever any NHL talk in here

Oh, believe me, I know.

Probably won't even bother trying NHL 16, unless it drops with great fan feedback.

Yea I've been suckered in every year thinking it has to get better it can't possibly be as bad as last year. No more. You can only polish a turd so many times before it falls apart.

Still have a blast with gm connected, 10 guys from the same town. It gets intense, we sometimes even have a playoff party so we can watch the games and have a reason to get drunk.

There hasn't been a patch since November. They update HUT daily though. They make a ton of money from that and executives will see NHL 15 as a success and the dev team will push out another piece of garbage next year.

At least FIFA is good. I love me some FIFA. Also MLB the Show is very good, especially if you're a franchise junkie.

Definitely. IMO, FIFA is the best sports game out there.

I have taken Bristol City (from League One) to the EPL in my career mode. It's been a super fun save. Longest I've ever gone in a career mode. Currently in December of year 4.

Love taking a small club and trying to move them up. I once gave up a tying goal in the 90th minute, final day of the season, forcing me to miss automatic promotion. Then lost a heartbreaker in the promotion finals.

If you have Xbox One or PC I highly reccomend Ori and the Blind Forest if you like platform-adventure games.

Haven't bought an NHL game since 2011. Played NHL 15 on the Xbox One recently. It looks good and all, but other than that, there really isn't anything much different than from four years ago. The hitting/player collisions are more sensitive and you can score with a slapper from just about anywhere on the ice. That's about it.

Disappointing because the NHL franchise was my religion for years. Loved 04 on the PS2. Played hundreds upon hundreds (probably close to a thousand) of hours between NHL 07 through NHL 12. Probably played about a day's worth since then.

Does anyone play Football Manager?

I got suuuuuper addicted to FM14 for a while. Was going to skip FM15, but now I've been thinking about buying it, especially because you can find it cheaper now that it's been out a while.

Just going to leave this here: http://freeonsmash.com/gaming/is-joe-montana-football-with-2k-sports-becoming-a-reality/

Short summary: 2k could possibly be coming out with a new NFL game for PC and Xbox One(beacuse of Microsoft's affiliation, they are exempt from EA's NFL rights. As I understand it.) If the rumors are true, this game could be a big hit.

This would be great for the sports game industry. EA almost has a monopoly and they continue to pump out garbage(save a few games, noteably FIFA) but NHL, Madden, and NBA have all been really slacking. Especially with the next gen release. If this game is able to put some pressure on EA and the Madden Franchise. We are all winners.

If everything in that article comes true, that is a game changer. I hope they do what Microsoft did at E3 when the Xbox 360 Slim came out. Nobody knew much about it and at the press release for it they said "Anddddd you can buy this tomorrow" Madden is EA's money maker, along with FIFA. Like you said, competition is great for the consumer. I wish 2K would revive their NHL series again but I have no idea what the licensing situation is with that.

If a new developer was able to challenge EA's establishment it would be great for the consumer. EA has continued to put out a lot of recycled garbage because they know they can get away with it. I'm guilty of buying, but I can't live without my sports games. If 2k can pull this off, and the game is as good as advertised this could be huge. Seriously hoping this comes true. The fact that Joe Montana is dropping hints makes me believe this could actually happen.
