Anyone picked up Battlefield yet? I have enjoyed the last few. Just can't decide if I should grab it or not.

I've found new liking to GT3 class since the latest update on iRacing. Tried out the Ford GT3, spent the weekend looking at telemetry & trying different stuff setup-wise. First race, started 17th out of 24 cars (no qualifying time), ended up 6th with 0 incidents.

Second race, started 17th out of 25 or something, again, no qualifying time. Got one hell of a start (rolling starts), timed it perfectly and blasted past half of the field. According to a teammate who was watching, I was 9th when approaching T1. That is all in one straight. Then, two RUFs hit each other and collected me from behind, smashing me into the inside concrete wall. Nothing I could do. Ran few more laps with a damaged car, called it a day after it just snapped exiting last corner. 16 minute repairs in a 40 minute race? Yeaaah, no thank you.

Planning to compete in the 3 hour "endurance" event over the weekend as well as the 12 hour race next week, both on Sebring. Anyone else competing?

I know GMAN23 does, but he prefers turning left.

I did for awhile. I ran mostly oval but did a bunch of road races. One of the first sims I actually felt comfortable running road races and even got 1 win in the prototype at Watkins Glen. It's been almost year and a half since I last raced. I had fun but don't have the time to be building new setups every week. Then you get to the end of the season and they change something and your setups junk again so you have to start over. Not complaining you just need more time then I'm able to put into it.

Get the Skippy, man. No need to change setups (well, maybe adjust the tyre pressures a click or two for some tracks), it's close racing & the community is mostly nice.

Yeah I grabbed it.

I never got BF4 but enjoyed Bad Company 2 and Battlefield 3 quite a bit. This one is a lot of fun. The cops/robbers aspect is definitely fresh and the idea of making cash and using that to buy guns and mounts/accessories is pretty cool.

Not to mention some of the new gametypes are a blast. Namely Heist, but Hotwire and Blood Money are pretty fun too.

:) I just joined a team for the first time this week. Never raced on the open setup side of Ovals. First race I did with their setup I dominated the race (3rd spilt in NiS) but late cautions messed up my W. But man, it's an awesome feeling knowing you're three tenth faster a lap than the other 30 cars. Racing with a group of guys really makes the experience a lot more enjoyable.

Never played a Dark Souls game in my life.

The Souls games are all among my favorites from last gen. Combat is amazing, there's not a game that I think compares to it. No hand holding. Everyone talks about the difficulty, and it is difficult, but I like the fact they you're dropped into the game and you need to figure out things for yourself. It is difficult, when you beat a boss that you've died at a couple dozen times it's pretty satisfying. The story appears to be almost non-existent, but if you want to spend time looking for it you'll be rewarded (or just watch the multitude of YouTube video theories surrounding it). Graphics are meh, for the most part. Hopefully the current gen will do it justice.

It was great! Just absolutely hooked on all of their games...

Hopefully we don't have to wait another 3 months to get episode 3.

Agreed. I'm trying to wait until they are all out to play borderlands and GoT. Can't stand waiting between episodes.

Emphasis on "mostly". *cough* GT3 *cough*

:sarcasm:

Yeah, it can get a bit frisky occasionally, but to their credit, the tintop guys have really cleaned their act. I mean, yeah, people do some brainless stuff on track every now and then, but in space of 1 season, it has improved a lot. Acquiring BlancPain as a title sponsor & dividing it between BP Sprint and BP Endurance series helps, too.

Congratulations! I've been in Glacier Racing for 3½ months now. Feels good to have teammates around you, even if it's not as important on the road side in single races. Creating & testing setups, doing longer events and just gaining access to that insane know-how they have really helps a lot of times. Also the simple confidence boost you get from being part of a team and knowing someone's got your back really makes a difference, doubly so if those guys include some ex- and current road DWC drivers.

Had to stay up late last night in order to play just a little bit of my pre-loaded Bloodborne. I was worried I may have over-excited myself for this . . . but I don't think so. The half-hour or so that I played was awesome. Looking forward to playing it properly tonight.

Damn game developers.

I was going to purchase the Heroes of Might and Magic III HD Remastered version, which is probably the most legendary game ever, but the game doesn't work at all on OSX. Seriously, why is that?
