Can't wait for the RE4 remake. Almost there.

Gawd dam... I had forgot about that super early village onslaught. I don't know if I just forgot how hard this (again, super early) section was, if they made it harder for the remake, or if I just suck ass at video games in my old age.... but I'm about to throw my controller through my TV, yell at my dog it's her fault, and drink to forget.

Argh

Tvs fine, dogs fine, I'm not crying.... forgot you just had to survive for a time. Lol.

My sanity, however... well, we'll see.

Anyone in here ever play Hades? If so what did you think of it? Ive heard nothing but good things about it. Im looking for a new SP game to play and deciding between Hades, Metro Last Light and Fallen Order. I would like to play through Fallen Order again before Jedi Survivor releases here soon.

Hades is a nice game for $20 or less. It's got decent dialog and fun gameplay. It does get repetitive after awhile. You die a lot, but that's the point.

I'm not a fan of Fallen Order, but I don't like Souls type of games. I played it and beat it, but not one I would replay. It's a very Souls Light type of game, so not a deal breaker. The controls always felt sloggy to me and that was the killer for me.

Repetitive gameplay in SP games is the worst for me. I agree its not something i need to replay but its been so long since i played it it might be a game i could get something out of.

The repetitive in Hades for me was mostly just the boss fight at the end. I spent a good amount of time on it before I felt that fight got old. $20 it's a good game you can get you money's worth imo. Anything more than $20 I'd pass on it.

I've been playing the games on ps plus lately (nothing new has looked worth the price to me). Ys:# games, Disaga, old FF games, Destroy All Humans, etc.

I'd really like a good Dynasty Warriors game for the PS5. It's one of my go to games when I just want to play a bit of no thinking, mass slaughter action.

For the PC FTL:Faster Than Light is my go to game when nothing else looks good. I'd really like a 2nd edition of that to be made.

Games Con is in MKE next weekend. I might go to that. I had a lot of fun playing the old games on the old counsels, the arcade games and pinball machines (all free with admission). The Harp Twins will be there again, and I like their music.

It's a really fantastic game.... if you like Roguelikes. Combat is fun, the premise is fun, the "story" is ok.... but man.... roguelikes are not my thing. Hades, Returnal, and Dead Cells would be fantastic games (I love much of all three), but by my 10th time of doing the same run (even if it's slightly different due to the procedurally generated levels) I lose all interest.

Out of your three, I'd go with Metro. Great series. Fallen Order is also good, but the level design is baffling. It's like the devs said "ok. Darks souls 1 + star wars, but we're going to make the level design 100 tines more complicated. Don't worry, we'll give em a map that's damn near impossible to read." Combat is great though. Story is good. Looks great too. (Edit: my bad, missed that fallen order would be a 2nd playthrough, so you know about it already!)

I'm still plugging away with Ghost of Tsushima (splitting time now with Re4) and having an absolute blast. Best game I've played since Elden Ring.

So excited for this game. The first one is easily the best game ive ever played.

I've been meaning to play the first game.

Ive heard nothing but good things about Ghosts and would like to give it a go but i dont have a console anymore and i dont think its on PC, hopefully one day.

I would put Hellblade on the top of your list after you finish your current playthrough. Its truly a masterpiece in terms of gaming such a beautiful yet kinda dark game with such a good story and has true meaning behind it with it bringing awareness to mental health. Idk if youre a headphone gamer but you absolutely NEED to use a headset when playing it though.

Ha, I had this same thing happen to me last night when I started playing. I am playing on hard or whatever and I did remember that all you needed to do was survive for a time but I think I might have died at least 7-8 times or so. They did a really good job at not really just letting you run around. The enemies seemed smarter. Just such a cool section and they did an incredible job making it new but still giving you that same feeling of intensity from the original for that part.

I can't wait to play the rest. The game looks so good. That's one thing the RE remakes have, 2, 3 and now 4 all look amazing. RE2 remake is one of my favorite games ever probably. We'll see if this one tops it. Just got to the merchant for the first time. Looking forward to jumping in again later.

Regarding the other games mentioned below, obviously going to be different opinions but Hades is sooooooooo damn good. The repetitiveness didn't really get to me because you could change which weapon you wanted to use. Thought that provided enough variety along with the heat options to change what happens in the run kept it fresh. I played it a ton when I first had it but never really went back after that. Definitely worth trying though.

Finally started Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. Changed it up this time and decided to buy it (super cheap) on the PS5 even though i also have it on Steam as kind of a curiosity to see how it runs on console. Runs fantastic, albeit takes a little bit to get used to. But it actually plays much smoother on PS5 as compared to my slightly aging gaming laptop. So far so good, thinking of changing it up already from my Crusader cleric to either an Oracle or Sorcerer

Your first mistake is getting a gaming laptop. Desktop all the way! ;)

What kind of game is Pathfinder?

Lol, I agree. But bought it for a deployment, kind of difficult lugging a desktop overseas!

CRPG similar to games like Baldurs Gate... but uses the Patherfinder system as opposed to DnD

Checking in to say RE4 Remake is incredible. I try not to sit and play it for a really long time, but just like the original it's a surprisingly long game. I thought they did a great job, just like with the RE2 Remake. I think I'm getting really close to the end, enjoyed the whole time.

So i just started Hades today after beating Fallen Order for the 2nd time in preparation for Jedi Survivor, and man is this game beautiful. The art style and graphics are so good, at the top of the list for me in those departments.

Maybe its just me but is this game kinda confusing for anyone? They just throw you in there with no tutorial or explanations on what ANYTHING does. Like the level design (?) doesnt even make sense to me, Do you have 1 life to complete each level and boss and if you die you start from the beginning? And every time you start a new run ( i think thats what they call it in the game) do you run into new gods each time that offer different equipment for you character for that specific run?

You'll die a lot. There is a little variety in weapons that opens up as you progress in the game.

Go on your run, die, get taunted when you revive. Rinse and repeat. It gets easier as you get stronger, but it's incremental gains. The buffs are random, and if you get a bad set then it will sink you. There are a few weapons to choose from before you start each run.

Do the boons reset after every death? Basically every run you have new gear persey besides the weapon you choose at the start?

I'm on Octopath Traveler 2 right now and I'm liking it a lot.

Jedi Survivor and Tears of the Kingdom are up next. Great time for games again!

I started that game about 8 times before I finally stuck with a playthrough. The dang character creation screen is half my playtime.
