McDonald-Trocheck-J. Hayes
K. Hayes, Miele

Gardiner-Jones
Dekeyser-Trouba
Donovan-Petry

I guess?

Really a lot of different ways you could go with the forwards (maybe swap Abdelkader and Stapleton for some more size on first line), but I think those D-pairings are a slam dunk.

offensively this group is going to be pure wild card. I think in a few years this collection of players will look a lot better overall as they become more proven NHL players. I like the youth and skill that Gaudreau, Nelson, Trocheck, and Shore brings to the table.

These four kids if able to step and be big time players could really help sway this team into solid positioning. the Hayes brothers will be fun to see if they get paired on the same line, but overall this group is young, hungry, and gritty enough to surprise. that defense is just too good for us to get beat on each night, this team has the make up to surprise if Timmy holds up.

US teams always play a high tempo, attacking game but the problem some US teams have had is generating any kind of scoring chances, let alone goals. To make matters worse, defenders and goalies have often struggled to adapt to the large ice and have made some poor decisions with the puck or ended up out of position. We'll have to wait and see how this team adjusts.

I would say a top line of Nelson Johnson Smith

I'm not used to seeing our team look that close to Germany in quality. I hope it's just chemistry.

start of the tourney, not worried. just come out on top and build from there.

positives are that our expected top guys like Gaudreau and Johnson are producing. that is a great sign early on. keep them rolling from start to finish.

I didn't think the two teams looked close at all. Team USA dominated in every way. Thinks slowed down a bit when the game progressed, but that's not so surprising with a three goal lead.

You must not watch the WC very often. This ain't the World Juniors.

We beat them 3-0 last year, but they beat us 2-1 the previous time we met in 2010. (Granted they had a bit of a home ice advantage in the game, but still)

I have been watching it for a several years, now. I didn't say anything about the score.
