You haven't watched Scheifele much have you? He was playing like a #1 center for a couple months before the injury.

I watched and I noticed. that doesn't make him a center on any addition of Team Canada in my view. not at his age....but if the point is just go through the motions and leave empty handed AGAIN. Then sure, have at it. And the point is 0 games in 2 months...but ya lots of time to get up to speed and in game shape in a short tournament, 9 games. plenty of time. LOL

Here's a suggestion, if it is that much of a torment to put together a team in an Olympic year..let's just boycott the tournament altogether. Why bother? Let's just take the year off, take the demotion down to the 2nd division, then send that team over the following year to kick ass and then start sending decent teams when Olympic qualifying comes around.

Garrison is a nice add, Bieksa + garrison pairing is most likely going to happen

Hope Turris and Perron can put this team on their backs. Otherwise lol at our chances...

As a Devils fan I was really hoping to see Zajac or Henrique play for team Canada, I'm surprised they haven't been invited. Both of them could be use in a defensive role and play on the PK. New Jersey had the best PK this year and both of them was playing over 2 minutes per game in this situation

For some people it seems like a bad team, but I don't think so.

It looks like canadian 'G' or 'H' team, but they still can beat anyone. Let's bring home the gold !

Wrong. Very Wrong.

The US team picks up Hellebuyck. Why? Because they are preparing him for future Oly tourney's. Same for Canada.

You obviously haven't watched Scheifle in the 2nd half of the season before his injury. He was a force at Centre. I will say his play was 200 feet complete and a threat in the O'zone with balanced dishing to his teammates. Made his teammates better. He has international top end speed now and confidence to match.

Further his defensive play in his own end was impressive; he got it in spades.

His play over the 200 feet of ice during this time reminded me of a very good player who you might have heard of....Steve Yzerman.

He is a late bloomer. Watch and learn.

I'm totally fine with Canada using the World Championship as a training ground for the Olympics/world cup even if we don't medal for the next four years. Best on best is what everyone cares about. if Canada struggled at the Olympics, that would be worrisome but that won't be the case for the next few years.

With that being said, I want to see how this young gun team does. Will they play the same style as the Olympics? How motivated will they be?

Absolutely. Best on Best is what counts in the end. I am fine using the WHC as a training ground for Olympics/World Cup.

Lebrun just tweeted that Kadri was invited to the WC team and accepted.

I would expect him to feature as the 2nd or 4th line centre in this case. At this point Turris would be the top guy, and probably Hodgson would play in the 3-hole. Bozak, and Kadri will likely fill the other two spots, with Monahan and Schiefele playing on the wings.

Of course, this could change instantly depending on the playoffs

A line of Perron-Kadri-Burrows is going to be hilarious to watch.

Please can we call it the dive line.

Easily one of the most detested lines in the world and its glorious!
