And that's goal 20 for Kisakov, tying the game 1-1 less than a minute into the 2nd period.

Edit - almost had 21... hearing the "Kisakova... oy oy oy!" twice in one shift.

Edit 2 - and now has #21 as Dynamo takes a 4-3 lead in the third.

Seems Buffalo has made the top three of the "feels good to dream about someday" list. Again.

Kisakov about to hit the ice again in about 20 minutes on YT.

And he just got crosschecked under his arm as he was trying to grab an airborne puck in front of the net and hobbled off. Some MHL mayhem followed. They are still trying to figure out all the penalties.

Edit - He's back, just set up his linemate Didkovsky with a nice curl from at the blueline, deking out two defenders and sending a 15-footer cross-ice in the slot. Didkovsky finished on the play.

Edit 2 - He just got into a bit of a frakas near the net on the PP. This game, so many very angry players... it's pretty fun. Novikov, his center is a massive human and uses it. I'm fascinated. And while Kisakov drew a roughing penalty, he drew a double minor in the exchange and Dynamo goes up 4-2 on the ensuing 5-on-3.

So Wheeler's daily articles have gotten down to the big reveal since he only has two teams left - Buffalo and LA.

I'm figuring he goes with LA - not that it matters much, since prospect rating reports are just shine in the middle of a season of discontent.

I think it will boil down to whether he is rating them based on potential or how they are actually performing. Guys like Byfield and Turcotte have a ton of potential, but are being outperformed by Quinn and Peterka.

He's all over the place with who he rates where, even doesn't hold himself to his own standards based on graduated vs. non-graduated guys. That aside, it's been interesting to read takes on various teams so far.

Kisakov on again via YT if anyone wants to watch -

(He's 52 in blue.)

Dynamo up 4-0 in the first and he's not potted a point. He's made the announcer go full RJ three times though... the "Kisakova... oy-oy-oy-oy" is a regular feature of the broadcast.

So he picks up one primary and one secondary assist in a game that was never in doubt - it was 4-0 after 1 and the Sakhalin goaltending was pretty suspect. He was on for at least four goals for that I noticed and none against.

At least it's something to talk about.
Definitely nice to see so many "experts" are high on the Sabres prospects, gives me some hope for the future of the team again. Just hope all of the major ones (Power, Quinn, Peterka, Krebs, Cozens) pan out and become solid players, or else we'll then hear how Buffalo killed xxxx prospects career haha.

There was a comment on one of the draft-nick streams or podcasts where a couple of the guys when asked about what team they think is underrated mentioned Buffalo because of the pieces involved already. (One also mentioned how if Mekar and Dahlin were flipped, the Dahlin conversation would be about how amazing his puck movement is rather than nitpicking every play on the injury-riddled Sabres.)

Heh. Check out this guy, he's got hope. A true glutton for punishment.

Possibly a stupid question but do our CHL prospects (Nadeau, Bloom and Kozak) have one more year left in junior or do they report to Roch next year?

They have one more year as Sabre prospects (2-year window after being drafted). Of the three, Kozak could sign a deal and start in the AHL next year since he would turn 20 prior to Dec. 31st. I'm not sure they go that way, but it's an option.

Nadeau is 19 and Bloom is 18 so neither can play in AHL next year. Any of them can play/practice with Rochester once their current season ends. So maybe a few weeks/months in April

What does everyone think we have with Brandon Biro? Didn’t realize he is 23 and pretty fresh out of college. Thought he was an AHL veteran lol but his points are very good

Looking at the WJC update on NHL 22, the Sabres prospects who played in it had the following ratings: Power (79 TWD High Elite potential), Novikov (63 TWD AHL Top 2 Medium potential), Konecny (60 PLY Bottom 6 F MED) and Rosen (68 PLY top 6 medium).

Also apparently Austria has someone called Finn van Ee. No, that is not a typo.
