People are always going to feel passionately about the prospects they know more about. ANA/LA/MINN have very impressive pools. They’re all in the top tier along.
Sounds like a great spot to be for our #1OA defenseman…This will definitely have an impact on Power and especially Portillo signing.
Report: Michigan Hockey Program Being Investigated For Various Allegations
If it looks like they're going to get hammered with sanctions it's best to sign Portillo. Power always was going to sign after this seasonSounds like a great spot to be for our #1OA defenseman…
I was expecting to see a picture of a pyramid.
For anyone who wants to save themselves a click:
Top tier ("high end"): Power, Quinn, Cozens, Krebs
2nd tier ("strong"): Peterka, Bryson, Rosen, Kisakov, Johnson, Poltapov, Samuelsson
3rd tier ("average"): Luukkonen, Levi, Portillo, Laaksonen, Konecny, Nadeau, Bloom, Rousek, Novkov, Sardaryan, Murray
4th tier ("long shots"): Weissbach, Huglen, Costantini, Marjala, Biro, von Barnekow, Pekar, Cederqvist
Bottom tier ("below average"): Cronholm, Kozak, Kukkonen, Lyckasen, Worge Kreu
Levi = average. OK.
What about power being elite? In this case notHe basically went with the goalies are a crapshoot take for all three.
He's not wrong in that regard.

Meh I don’t care much about one guys opinion is. Luongo making sure personally that Florida drafts him is as much praise as any hockey writer could possibly give. Why isn't he wrong? To some people, goalies aren't crapshoots -- it's called being good at goalie scouting. He admits he doesn't know how to evaluate goalie prospects but ranks them anyway, which is stange.
Technically, literally every prospect is a crapshoot, so I guess you're right. But it shouldn't be for people who are frigging writing about it like they're an expert.
The Big Ten Network singing Portillo's praises, talking up how they too think Portillo will be the team MVP with how Michigan plays. He has 39 saves so far on 40 shots against.

Noronen will always be a legend. This really is a replay of the Mika vs Marty vs Miller days. There were plenty of people that felt that Mika or Marty would be the best of that bunch.

I would rather the writer be self-aware than try and fake it.
Levi and UPL are both great examples of how up and down goalie development is. There are plenty of people losing their minds about the Reinhart trade because Levi was a 7th round pick who had only played in last year's WJC between being drafted and the trade.
3/4 of one NCAA season later and most Sabres fans are in love. Even the most optimistic Sabre fans didn't see this coming. But, with his bad weekend against a solid UMass team, there are some signs that Levi's development won't just be a rocket ship straight to a Vezina Trophy.
I like Levi the best of the three goalie prospects that the Sabres have right now. But, I won't be surprised if any of them turns out to be the best NHL goalie long term.

Peterka seems one level above all the others you have in the "strong" tierFor anyone who wants to save themselves a click:
