You're getting slow in your old age LT Dan.

BTW, back to the OC Covid data, i'm really surprised we haven't seen the daily cases increase much the past week+. It's increased, but not by much; staying in that 300/day range. Maybe it's delayed and Omicron will get those 500+/daily case rates. But for now, i'm somewhat surprised.
I expect the increase to come next week

The mask mandate returns on Wednesday for ALL of CA

California is imposing a statewide indoor mask mandate

Gov. Gavin Newsom's administration announced the new mandate will start Wednesday and last until Jan. 15. The order comes as the per capita rate of new coronavirus cases in California has jumped 47% in the past two weeks.
"We know people are tired and hungry for normalcy. Frankly, I am too," California Health and Human Services Secretary Dr. Mark Ghaly said Monday. "That said, this is a critical time where we have a tool that we know has worked and can work."
California lifted its statewide mask mandate on June 15 for people who were vaccinated, a date Newsom heralded as the state's grand reopening. But since then, county governments covering about half of the state's population have imposed their own indoor mask mandates as case rates surged with new variants.

I think I a missing something here.
Are you going my daily info pictures or do you know something we don't? Because we have had some way worst stretches'.

Yeah we topped out at over 70 daily deaths during the January peak. They are definitely climbing again though.

Omicron is spreading fast, it’s going through the UK incredibly quickly. If it truly is a milder version of the virus it may ultimately be a ‘good’ thing.

I say ‘good’ because a mild version becoming so dominant with so many people still being unvaccinated is infinitely better than a more aggressive version being so transmissible. I really hope those that are unvaccinated for non medical reasons have a bit of a rethink and consider the “what if’s” around this. The more robust our immune systems are the less opportunity there will be for mutation of the virus.

Also, this new version being slightly less well covered by the current vaccines clearly demonstrates why boosters will be needed. At some point we will need further boosters to cover this variation properly as well as any others that will likely occur.

Hoping we can get through Christmas without going into full lockdown again. I’m expecting a short circuit breaker lockdown at the start of January.

One of the jokes out of the conspiracy theories was that not only would Bill Gates chip you, but you would get better WIFI.

‘well I can put that theory to rest, in fact my 3 chips have done nothing but cause electrical wavelength disruption with my AT&T service ever since. Curse you Bill Gates in trying to get me to switch over to some Microsoft based Internet provider.

From what we know thus far, I would be fine with catching the Omicron variant. That does not mean I will forego getting the booster shot though, because I will get it at some point.
