Jeff Blashill is out as Red Wings coach. I wonder if there's any chance he takes the Spartans position?

The coaching carousel has spun.

Michigan St: Adam Nightingale (brother of Jason Nightingale, Sabres Assistant Director of Amateur Scouting)
BU: Jay Pandolfo
BC: Greg Brown

Mike Hastings was reportedly interviewed by both MSU and BU. BC reportedly sought Mike Cavanaugh (withdrew his name from consideration) and Nate Leaman (re-upped at Providence).

Adam was also the Sabres video coach under Housley. Weirdly, Brown was a Sabre at one time and Jay's brother Mike was a Sabre draftee.

what happened to that Canisius program? I thought they were on the rise a few years ago, but haven't seen much progress.

They've been as good as anyone not named AIC in Atlantic Hockey over the last few years. Without looking it up I feel like they've gotten byes (top 4), it's just that AIC has been so dominant in conference that they've kind of overshadowed everyone else.

Personally I'm hoping RIT can get back to where they were 10-15 years ago now that they can finally give scholarships, because they've been decidedly mediocre even by AHA standards over the last handful of years...

Hi, Canisus PA / DJ here. The Griffs were in the conference final two seasons ago against AIC; got bounced in the quarterfinal by Mercyhurst this past season.

Incidentally, the Griffs announced their incoming transfer class today:

Brenden Datema (defender, Michigan Tech / Sterling Heights, MI)
Tyrell Buckley (defender, Michigan Tech / Penticton, BC)
Markus Boguslavsky (forward, Boston U / Calgary, AB)
Cody Schiavon (defender, Vermont / West Kelowna, BC)
Nick Bowman (forward, RPI / Shelby Township, MI)
Grant Loven (forward, St. Thomas / East Grand Forks, MI)

... and a local kid & Jr. Sabres alum:

Erik Urbank (forward, Dartmouth / Orchard Park, NY)

The home opener is Tuesday, October 18 against RPI. I can't wait for this season.

I really like some of the moves he's made already. Hiring Topher Scott as the Director of Hockey Operations was a really good move, IMO.

I'll be very curious to see the ripple effect this has on the program. Aside from an image problem, they lost a top notch recruiter in sketch-guy Mel Pearson.

The first thing to see is if Naurato and his staff stay on past the 22-23 season.

They are getting a late start to this new recruiting cycle. But, guys like Scott & Rassey have recruiting experience and it won't surprise me if they do a good job. And Bill Muckalt and Naurato remaining from Pearson's staff gives them a mix of new blood and old blood on the staff.
