One name I haven’t seen mentioned as a potential UFA signing is Cam Wright from Denver. Right shot left wings are a commodity and he’s a pure shooter. He’s older, but spent four years on a mediocre BGSU team so he went largely unnoticed.
He was also very close to calling Harborcenter home once upon a time. Atlantic Hockey is too good for 19 year olds though, so he played at the same age in a better conference instead.
MSU getting a new HC. Guess enough was enough for the Spartans.
Also not a surprise -
Man, I knew it would be sooner than later, but this bums me out. A guy who wins a title at Bowling Green is a true legend. I'm not a big BC fan although I do respect the program Jerry MF York turned into a standard in the game.
I have 2 cheeky asides here: 1) does anyone else think Jerry looks like Stanley Roper from Three's Company? 2) Does BC try to poach a small program coach like Hastings, Carvel or Leaman?
I also get the feeling Leaman stays put. He gets paid more than the A.D. at Providence. He might even be generating NHL attention with his USNDP performances. We tossed around Leaman's name earlier, but I think he likes where he is. I'm not sure about the other two leaving their programs but one would think the status (and PAY) for BC is going to make that job a plum. I'm wondering if Quinn comes back to the collegiate ranks but would he come back to the archrivals of his former team?

That is a fine theory, hermano. My gut says Orpik, but I rather enjoy the Game of Thrones power struggle we're making it out to be.Mike Cavanaugh (UConn) was a looooong time BC assistant. Huskies haven't broken through, but that program has been on an upward trajectory for a while now.

The coaching watch actually will be kinda juicy with BU and BC having vacancies. And Michigan State is in the mix, although it is currently the consolation prize of the high profile spots available.
The pat answer is: "not soon enough". Meanwhile, that was a good move on Buffalo's part to snatch the "real" Granato (maybe a crying emoji would've been more appropriate). You are a BC alum right? Any other candidates?
When does Wisconsin fire the "other" Granato?

BU, hence my more informative post on the Terrier situation a while back. I still think it'll be one of those three (Quinn, Pandolfo, McEachern), and of those three I think I'd like Pandolfo, BU went for great recruiters the last two hires (Quinn, Albie) but their actual coaching was always lackluster, when we won it was usually a matter of having superior talent, and you cannot win championships on talent alone. Two Boston area powerhouses on the surface seems like a great situation for a guy like Lang to move up (even if he'd be leaving his alma mater), but both schools to me seem more likely to look for guys with connections to their program.
Casey Jones loses his #1 assistant to a conference rival.
