from cbc.ca:

Montreal Alouettes player and ex-teacher Christophe Normand has been suspended from play as he faces two charges of child luring for the purpose of sexually exploiting a minor under the age of 16.

The 30-year-old fullback is accused of texting the minor with the intend of making an offence of a sexual nature, according to his charge sheet.

The offences are alleged to have occurred on or around Aug. 9 in Bromont, Que.

Normand was arrested by provincial police at his home in nearby Eastman early Thursday morning. He later appeared in court by video conference from the Waterloo police station. He pleaded not guilty and was released on conditions.

In particular, Normand is prohibited from being in the presence of minors, except in the company of another responsible adult. He also cannot communicate with the complainant or use the internet.

In a brief statement posted on Twitter Thursday night, the Alouettes said it was aware of the allegations concerning Normand. The team confirmed his suspension the next day.

"To respect all parties involved, we will wait for the end of the investigation," team president Mario Cecchini said in the statement Friday.

I wonder if he was busted by a police-initiated sting or by one of the pred-catching groups online. There's tons and tons of groups on YouTube now that do their own independent stings and forward info to the police during or after their confrontations.

For second degree attempted murder in a domestic incident? Sounds like the going rate to me. Maybe a little bit on the low side if you're a "throw the book at 'em" type but not extraordinarily so.
Why is it not Ex Patriot since she won a SB with them? Guess they go by your first nfl club.

He should be suspended at least 2-3 games. This happened outside of the parameters of the game. He straight up assaulted a bystander out of anger and frustration.

Edit: and I really like Davante as a player and guy, too.

I would imagine that a lawsuit gets filed and ultimately settled.

I guess during the game if they are on the sidelines and get run over due to momentum of the player it’s Part of the risk of doing the job.

The only thing that can help mitigate a suspension or length is that the guy is crossing perpendicular to the flow of traffic which is at that point after the game is one way from field to locker room so his right side.

Applying traffic logic to it he’s coming from a small street into a big street. On him to make sure he can make it safely across. Adams does not appear to change speeds leading up to the shove though the clip is very short and he’s only a couple to few yards away. But if there is a longer clip of 10 yards back and his pace is the same then the guy should be checking the flow before trying to cross that high traffic area.

Again, no reason for the shove. What also hurts Adams is that he walked away vs immediately try to help the guy back up.

You’d figure that for these late games the road team would mandate that everyone get dropped off either at the team facility and they all hop on buses together to the airport or get dropped off at the airport.

Team would then arrange for rides for everyone when they returned home since no one has a vehicle at the airport or team facility. TNF game ended at like 10:30 central. So the Titian’s get to the airport after midnight. Most likely land in Nashville after 2am. As a team if you allow alcohol on the plane it’s your responsibility to ensure everyone gets home.

I think every road team should ensure all personnel are taking a ride share or are getting picked up when they return home. No one drives home after a road game.

He wasn't arrested but OBJ was removed from a flight after refusing to fasten his seatbelt.

from cnn.com:

NFL free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. was removed from a Los Angeles-bound American Airlines flight Sunday morning at Miami International Airport after refusing to comply with safety protocol, according to a statement from the Miami-Dade Police Department.

In a statement obtained by CNN affiliate WVSN, Miami-Dade police said officers were dispatched when the American Airlines flight crew was concerned for Beckham’s well-being after he would not comply with requests to fasten his seatbelt.

Crew members said Beckham “appeared to be coming in and out of consciousness,” according to police, who said they were initially called to the plane for a “medical emergency.”

Beckham refused to exit the plane when police and fire officials arrived, police said.

According to police, the aircraft was then deplaned. Beckham then complied without incident to officers’ requests to exit the plane.

“American Airlines flight 1228, with service from Miami (MIA) to Los Angeles (LAX), returned to the gate before takeoff due to a customer failing to follow crew member instructions and refusing to fasten their seatbelt. The customer was removed, and the flight re-departed at 10:54 a.m. local time,” American Airlines said in a statement obtained by CNN.

No charges have been filed in this incident and after being escorted by officers to the terminal’s non-secure area Sunday morning, Beckham then “made other arrangements,” police say.

Massive inconvenience to the other passengers. We all have to buckle our seat belts prior to take off.

The Gainesville Police Department said Kitna was interviewed by officers and that he told them he thought the images he shared were "legal" because he found them online. Police say they searched Kitna's electronic devices and found three more images of child sexual abuse material.

....if he is lying, he is lying and should go to jail.

.....if he is telling the truth, can we just sterilize him so stupid can't produce? After he goes to jail.

Yuck. Seems like the age invovled is closer to toddlers than "just" some 16/17 year old high school girl, as he's only 19 himself, based on the details.

His life is pretty much over. Suicide would probably be better than what he's gonna deal with for the rest of his life.

Can’t imagine what his dads going through
