This really does not look good for Kamara. :shakehead

from espn.com:

Video surveillance shows New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara punching a man approximately eight times before Kamara's associates proceeded to stomp on him several more times on the ground in a Las Vegas casino Saturday morning, according to the police report from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

The man, who was knocked unconscious, sustained an orbital fracture to his right eye, among other injuries, according to the police report.

Police said the video surveillance matched the man's account. The man said he started a conversation with one member of a group of people while waiting for an elevator as he was leaving the Cromwell Casino at Drais After Dark Club on South Las Vegas Boulevard at about 6:30 a.m. local time. When the elevator doors opened, the man started to walk toward the elevator along with the large party. But a man later identified as Kamara put his hand on the victim's chest to stop him.

The man said he then pushed Kamara's hand off his chest, and Kamara pushed back hard enough to cause the man to stumble back. Afterward the man recalled being hit and kicked by multiple people and losing consciousness.

According to the video surveillance, the man was speaking to a woman before the events occurred as he described. After Kamara pushed the man, one of Kamara's associates punched the man in the face. Then Kamara lunged toward the man and punched him approximately eight times -- including three times after he had fallen to the ground.

Three others from Kamara's group then began stomping the man in the face, chest and legs. One of Kamara's associates stomped him about 16 times, according to the police report. The incident broke up once security arrived, and Kamara and his party were escorted out of the property. Kamara was later identified through video and eyewitness accounts, and he had used his ID and credit card while at the casino.

Meh, he'll get the charges dismissed or severely reduced and miss a couple games at most

Well he certainly won't get what you and I would get if we committed the same thing. But I just can't see him only getting a slap on the wrist either - especially when the footage gets released.

Washington Commanders defensive back Deshazor Everett has been charged with involuntary manslaughter, the Loudoun County (Va.) Sheriff's Office announced Tuesday. This charge comes after an investigation into a single-car crash on Dec. 23, 2021 that resulted in the death of Olivia Peters. The 29-year-old, who was Everett's girlfriend, was a passenger in the vehicle involved in the crash. Everett was the driver.

Everett and Peters were said to be traveling north on Gum Spring Road at around 9:15 p.m. ET when the vehicle, a 2010 Nissan GT-R, went off the right side of the road and hit several trees while rolling over. The investigation revealed that Everett was driving over twice the 45 mph speed limit just before the crash.

Peters was transported to StoneSprings Hospital where she died due to her injuries.

On Tuesday, Everett turned himself in to Loudoun County Adult Detention Center and was being held on a $10,000 bond.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office has decided not to charge Adrian Peterson in connection to his arrest at Los Angeles International Airport on Sunday for what airport officials said was domestic violence, a representative told TMZ Sports.

Peterson's case will now be referred to the Los Angeles City Attorney, who will examine the case and still could charge Peterson with misdemeanor domestic violence, TMZ reported.

According to a Los Angeles Airport Police statement, they received a call around 8:30 a.m. local time Sunday about possible domestic violence on board an aircraft bound for Houston and responded to "a verbal and physical altercation between a male suspect and a female victim."

Peterson, 36, was booked at the Los Angeles Police Department Pacific Division. He was given a $50,000 bail and released Sunday afternoon on bond.

The free-agent running back had told Fox 26 in Houston in a telephone interview on Monday that he and his wife, Ashley, "got into an argument on the plane. That was pretty much the gist of it. I ended up grabbing her hand and taking her ring off her finger."

Ashley Peterson, who continued on their flight to Houston after her husband was arrested, did not press charges. Adrian Peterson said he was arrested "because the ring left a scratch on her finger."

Chris Lammons named as one of the group that beat up the guy in the Kamara case, arrest warrant has been issued

Lammons turned himself in on Thursday.

from cbssports.com:

Alvin Kamara drew the attention of both the NFL front office and the Las Vegas Police Department after the New Orleans Saints running back was arrested following the 2022 NFL Pro Bowl. The star running back was charged with battery resulting in substantial bodily harm stemming from an altercation at a Las Vegas nightclub the night prior, where he was alleged to have been involved in an attack that left one man severely injured.

Chiefs cornerback Chris Lammons, who was one of four individuals who were charged during the incident, turned himself into authorities on Thursday before posting a $8,000 bail, according to ESPN's Adam Teicher. Lammons, who appeared in court earlier in the day, was not asked to enter a plea, according to his attorney, Ross Goodman.

Kamara's attorney, Atlanta-based lawyer Drew Findling, has launched his own investigation into the allegations.

"Alvin Kamara has gained a well-deserved reputation for being a hard-working and community-minded individual," Findling said in a statement, via The New Orleans Times-Picayune. "The recent Las Vegas allegations are not consistent with who Mr. Kamara has shown himself to be in both his public and private life. Therefore, we are conducting our own investigation into all of the circumstances and individuals associated with this matter to determine both the facts and motivations of all involved."

I honestly don’t understand a year long suspension.

If he bet on his own games, it should be a lifetime ban.

If he didn’t bet on his own games, I don’t see the issue given that sports betting is legal now.

He did bet on Falcons games

Active players are not permitted to bet on football games, it is like the 1st commandment

Players who have been caught betting have all pretty much gotten a year or more

He's done. I remember reading he had character concerns when looking into CB's last year for the draft as it was a need for my team. Never expected it to show up in this ugly a fashion. At a minimum he got into a fight that led to someone getting murdered (and knew who did it) and didn't report it until brought in for questioning.

So far 2 arrests have been made but no charges have been laid against Kelvin Joseph.

from cbssports.com:

Joseph spent hours with DPD on Friday being questioned, sources said, and the department announced on Saturday they moved forward with two arrests -- Joseph being neither of them -- taking Aries Jones, 28, and Tivione English, 21, into custody in connection with the homicide; reportedly labeling Jones and English as the two gunman responsible for murdering Ray at 3600 Greenville Avenue that tragic evening.

As of this moment, Joseph has not been charged with a crime.

The investigation remains ongoing.

The matter is now also being reviewed by league's front office, who will launch a probe -- a source tells CBS Sports -- that will work to conclude if Joseph violated any of the league's policies, most notably the personal conduct policy, which could lead to possible fine and/or suspension.

The question I’d ask is how long it took him to inform his agent.

Panthers LB Damien Wilson was arrested for assault.

from espn.com:

Carolina Panthers linebacker Damien Wilson was arrested in Frisco, Texas, last week after his ex-girlfriend said he threatened to kill her, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Wilson, 28, who was signed last month by the Panthers, faces a charge of assault with bodily injury of a family member, Frisco Police Sgt. Stephen Byrom said in an email to the newspaper.

Wilson's attorney, Toby Shook, denied the allegations.

"Damien Wilson did not commit any type of assault," Shook told the newspaper. "We look forward to all the facts coming out so his name can be cleared."

Byrom said he had no information about on whether Wilson had bonded out.

A Panthers spokesperson told the newspaper that the team was aware of Wilson's arrest but had no further comment.

Wilson's ex-girlfriend, Ryan Sokolosky, told the Dallas Morning News that after she broke up with Wilson, he showed up drunk at her apartment and threatened to kill her with a tire iron. She said he also destroyed her laptop by wrapping it in a blanket and slamming it to the ground, telling her it was her cat. Wilson also tried running her over before driving off, she said.

Sokolosky gave permission for her name to be used. She said she obtained a protective order against Wilson.

"He thinks all of it's a joke because he's rich and thinks he's going to get out of everything," she said to the newspaper.

In 2017, Wilson was accused of brandishing a rifle and threatening tailgaters outside a soccer venue. He was arrested on two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. A grand jury declined to indict Wilson

An Arrest Warrant has been issued for Earl Thomas.

from si.com:

An arrest warrant has been issued for former Seahawks star Earl Thomas after police said Thomas violated a court protective order by sending threatening messages to a woman about her and her children, according to the Austin American-Statesman.

Court records show that a warrant signed on April 27 charges Thomas with a third-degree felony for allegedly violating a protective order from May 2021 that stated he could only communicate with the woman through a co-parenting phone app, according to the paper.

As of Friday afternoon, Thomas had not been booked into the Travis County jail.

The arrest warrant comes shortly after the 33-year-old Thomas told ESPN’s Adam Schefter on April 22 that he wants to pursue a return to the NFL. The seven-time Pro Bowler and three-time First Team All-Pro has not played in a game since the 2019 season, after he signed a four-year contract with the Ravens. He was released in August of 2020 after he punched Baltimore teammate Chuck Clark during an altercation at a training camp practice.
