Drunks don't tense up or brace for impact which actually lowers the likelihood of suffering bodily harm oddly enough.

Pretty sure this is a wives tale. I’d assume most times these victims don’t even have time to brace for any kind of impact, they are totally blindsided.

The reason drunks might not usually be the ones dying is because they’re crashing into other people at high rates of speed, and not the other way around.

I believe the NFL actually has its own Black Car/ride share network and it’s free for the players to avoid this exact scenario, which makes it worse

Players don’t like using it because they feel it gets to the team they’ve been drinking.

It’s ridiculous though, even poor drunks have better options than getting behind the wheel.

Complete lack of planning on Ruggs. Don’t take the car if you have any thoughts or plans of Drinking that evening. Makes the decision way easier to make when you are not intoxicated.

now he is staring at jail time, a civil suit from the victims family, the raiders will look to claw back any signing bonus money if there are any clauses in the cba that allow them to do so.

plenty of young WR coming into the nfl each season. How many teams will be looking to give him a chance after 2 years or more away from the game vs going with a kid out of college?

A little time can be worse on the defendant. Say you throw down 2 shots , jump in your car and hit someone 4 mins after the shots. AT that moment your BAL will be lower than it will 40 mins from than, those shots haven't been processed yet.

Ruggs also hasn’t been as accomplished as Gordon. So far in his young career Ruggs has been a one trick deep threat guy.
