What a f'n loser. I say it everytime a person (let alone someone rich) does this.... why?????

What does tensing or bracing do to hurt you? Maybe its early and I am not functioning 100%, but I am also not a doctor and genuinely curious.

Someone I heard on the radio was saying this exact thing. Which makes this situation even worse.
You're basically channeling all that energy into a small area, but really the person getting the DUI is not actively controlling their body's response to the impact so it moves in the path of least resistance which is more likely to spare them from injury. But "more likely" shouldn't be considered significant. There's a lot more that goes into a car crash.

A side effect of alcohol is a lot of people think they aren't drunk when they're completely trashed.

As somebody that has bartended off and on for over 30 years I've come to realize that there are a couple different ways that people show just how drunk they are - with some people you can see the gradual progression with every drink they consume while others look and act fairly sober after a few drinks until the moment the " completely drunk " stage hits them....and it usually hits them hard. Those are the people that think they can still drive and those are the ones you need to worry about the most.

Ruggs aside... the US in general isnt hard enough on people who get DUIs. People with DUIs shouldnt be allowed to drive ever again... or at least have a minimum of 10 year wait before youre eligible to regain the license.

As for Ruggs, he'll have a nice view of Tahoe and the mountains from his lockup in Carson City for a few years. His female companion and the family of his victim will each receive 1/4 of his net worth. The rest will go to the lawyers. (All after uncle sam collects his fines). His life is essentially over. Too bad when he gets out of prison he'll be allowed to drive.

Keyshawn Johnson just laying into him as apparently they are close
said he doesnt understand why someone would drive to a club in vegas. Nobody is going to see your car.

Does anybody understand his blood alcohol level?
how did they get that info if he refused a sobriety test?
Im just wondering how they get it if he refuses

Not even sure why his girlfriend got in the car with him. Clearly he was hammered. I don't fault her for not stopping him (she can only do so much) but why get in the car?

Because she's probably just as stupid as he is.

They may be considered common law as she is the mother of his child. If they are living together that’s probably the case. She’s probably just as intoxicated as well. Clearly neither of them thought about where they were going before getting into their car TO the club.

Britt Reid is set for trial in April which is like over 14 months since the accident at the beginning of Feb this year which severely injured a young girl.

If that is a similar timeline for Ruggs that would take us to the end of next season for him.

thus can understand the raiders releasing him. As he would still get suspended by the nfl which would take us to the end of his 4 year rookie deal.

What an absolute tone deaf tweet from Toney, this wasn't some small mistake from Ruggs he killed a young woman. Someone needs to tell him this isn't the time to stand up for him.

the violent way in which she died makes it much much worse.
simply unimaginable being trapped in a car and screaming as you're being burned alive.
may god be with her family

it's really disgusting how ESPN and Co are more worried about Rodgers and his dumb vax status rather than this girl who was burned alive at the hands of a potential future pro bowl wr.

So sad. Why the fudge are you going 156 MPH, man? My heart aches for the young lady and her family.

Blood warrant. Officer contacts the local judge, and they sign off on it. And I've been told, if they have to, they will strap the subject down and get that sample.

FWIW, I have testified many, many times on BAC's above 0.15 g%, in some states, it's an automatic felony at 0.15 or 0.16 g% and above. BAC's over 0.08 g% are way more common than people realize, and juries can be the hardest part, as in layman's terms, drunk = falling down, whereas in truth, impairment can be more subtle, driving is hard, lots of coordinated tasks involved.

Because I doubt this was his first time driving while intoxicated.

I find it interesting the NFL doesn't seem too concerned about one of its players killing someone.

David Carr and the Raiders HC both held conferences for the media and both handled themselves well.
I feel for the family of the young lady who lost her life in such a horrific way. That is the only thing about this that is important in this case.
