Must have learned to cheat from Brady & Belichick

Patrick Chung charged with one count of assault and battery of a family member plus one count of vandalism.

from sports.yahoo.com

Retired New England Patriots safety Patrick Chung appeared in Quincy District Court in Massachusetts on Tuesday, pleading not guilty to one charge of assault and battery of a family member and one charge of vandalism, according to the Boston Globe.

Chung was arrested on Monday, but no details of the alleged crime have been released.

The Globe reported that the domestic violence charge involved the mother of one of his children. She appeared in court Tuesday without a lawyer and asked the judge for a restraining order, which was granted. After Chung pleaded not guilty, the judge released him without bail. However, if the terms of the restraining order are violated, that will convert to an additional criminal charge.

charge of assault & battery and one charge of vandalism.

On Monday, the day he was arrested, Chung tweeted " Best day of my life ".

Chung, 34, played in the NFL for 11 years, spending 10 of them with the Patriots and earning three Super Bowl rings in the process. He opted out of the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, then announced his retirement in March 2021.

Chung has been in trouble with the law once before. He was indicted by a New Hampshire grand jury in Aug. 2019 on a cocaine possession charge after police discovered evidence at his home while responding to a "call for service." The charges were dismissed in January 2020, but with conditions attached. If he committed a felony or misdemeanor anytime in the next two years, the charges would be reinstated.

Schefter said teams are hammering and hammering this into players about taking taxi's, Ubers, Lyfts if drinking

each player gets a ridiculous credit FREE of around $800 a month free from the NFL if on roster that they can use in this instance on any of those modes of transportation

just not getting it cause they want to drive their own vehicles

so ruggs hit the car in the rear, the car caught on fire, driver never got out of the car? was ruggs to drunk to even try to get the person safely out of the car? some strange details in that report.

I'll never understand how driver never gets seriously hurt in these kinds of situations. Everyone gets seriously hurt or dies, but never the drunk person. I just don't get it.

I can’t picture a guy coming back from DUI manslaughter in today’s climate.

stallworth was drunk yes… but the guy was crossing the middle of a road not in a cross walk… that accident obviously involved some responsibility on both parties… This situation falls squarely on ruggs..

may have quoted the wrong person here but just thought I wud add some context

DUMBASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Was it worth it? Was it worth it not taking an uber back??? DUMBASS

RIP to the innocent victim.

And the salute he does in the end zone is to honor his HS teammate who was killed in a car accident.

the stigma around athletes and untouchable/invincible needs to stop.. an innocent family lost a loved at the hands of one selfish individual

What a tragically stupid mistake...one that ended up taking one life and ruining multiple others.

In an era where it is comically easy to find safe transportation when intoxicated, there's zero excuse for anything like this to ever happen.

Accident occurred at 3:40 am on Tuesday morning. Don’t nfl teams have practice on Tuesdays? Like what is he doing out that late? Players from what I understand have Mondays off. But can go into the facility for treatment for injuries or massages. No team meetings or practices.

raiders coming off a bye so I doubt that they would give their guys Tuesday off.

he will get placed on the exempt list in the coming days.
