Would he even play tomorrow if he was signed? I believe the Oilers told McDavid and RNH they have till Tuesday off to rest up after the tournament and have already told Sekera and Draisaitl they will get some resting time when they are done at the WCOH. It's not like he's going into camp rusty having just played a tournament.

I'm sure Gaudreau will sign soon, his demands aren't outrageous so the parties shouldn't be too far apart.

FTR, I don't think Gaudreau "hates" playing in Calgary but would probably ideally wants to be closer to NY area. I think he'll play for the Flames if they give him the dollars that he's asking for

There is a difference between sitting out because you're getting a couple of days off from management and sitting out because you don't have a contract.
