I think it's gotta be a happy medium. Guy is a complete asshole. No question about it. But now he's OUR asshole. And Cap fans loved him. I assume this is how people see Marchy.

Hes no Evander Kane, so I can give him a shot here and see how it goes. He's 8th in the league in hits. So at the very least he's gonna give us some good hitting that was missing. It's up to him to put on a good impression.
What does he is no Evander Kane mean?

Funny that Kane was given guardianship of his children. Guess he does something right

I'm not going to get into a conversation about that absolute piece of shit guy. I read the reports and I believe her. Now I don't doubt they had a volatile relationship. But everything indicates what kind of "man" that dude is. And that's that.

NHLers should be held to higher standard than us regular folks. Just keeping it hockey related, can you imagine if any Bruin were to call in sick at practice because they got too banged up parting at a NBA Allstar game? Talk about a guy who puts himself above the team.

Yeah I don't love him, just hard to call him a bad person when a judge obviously disagrees and trusted him with children

A judge thought OJ Simpson was innocent as well. Either way, there is just too much smoke for there to be no fire when it comes to EK. Obviously, in the grander scheme of things, there are way more people deserving of others ire but as far as NHLers go his on and off ice misbehavior is unmatched by any current NHLer.

As if judges know everything and have made good choices. Little Harmony Montgomery was given to ger dad and we all know what happened there.

That's all I'll say.

No, that was the jury who thought he was innocent.

Comparing Hathaway to Evander Kane is wrong on every damn level and quite honestly, gross.

I don't agree that Brad is one of the dirtiest players in the league. He hasn't been for a number of years.

True. But he's still Brad, which means he's plenty "dirty" when he wants to be.

Marchand's reputation precedes him. He's never going to get a break from the zebra's, or the league, because of that.

And, although I love the guy -- I really do, look at that low bridge on Hathaway (sic), effing hilarious -- let's be clear:

Brad is a dirty player. Always was, always will be. He's said as much himself,

I know there’s a lot of people who don’t like it, and I will be the first to tell you that it’s a fine line. I have done things that have stepped over that line, and I’ve paid the price for it. But you know what? There’s a lot of people out there in the hockey world who love to say, “Winning is everything. It’s the only thing.”

But do they really mean it? How far are they willing to go? Maybe it was my size, or just the way I was born, but I’ve always felt like you have to be willing to do anything — literally anything — in order to win. Even if that means being hated. Even if it means carrying around some baggage.

If I played the game any other way, you absolutely would not know my name. You wouldn’t care enough to hate me, because I wouldn’t be in the NHL. The way I played the game got me noticed by junior teams, and it got me drafted by the Boston Bruins at 5’9”.

I was meant to play for this city. I believe that.

I was surprised to see that over the last two season Hathaway has actually drawn the 13th most penalties in the NHL. He's actually drawn 10 more penalties than he's taken.

my wife works in domestic violence, i work with a lot of kids in those situations so Im at minimum adjacent...you'd be suprised at how good men are at manipulating the system to look like they are not the abuser. Helps when you have a lot of money too. But anyways, not trying to derail the thread

Im glad Hathaway does not abuse women and blow money on gambling, team doesn't need the distraction
