Hathaway the hockey player is extremely serviceable, I do like seeing that, especially in the defensive end. He is not a stranger to playing responsible hockey, and a better skater than I gave him credit for.
Can't go over minimum wage for the 4th line IMO.

He's been fine - but needs to be a whole lot more to make up for being the POS he was before he walked in the door.

Yea he was billed as a physical chippy guy who's gonna punish opposing players.
When it comes to that aspect of his game all I've seen are some stick taps after the whistle. Same stuff AJ Greer does for the most part
Nothing really to write home about.
Still plenty of time to change that though.
He said his family is still in DC but they found a place so they'll be in Boston soon. That has to be tough on a guy.
Yeah they’re always going after him post whistle, especially relative to the other guys. There is definitely another dbag level he can hit tho

I was thinking the same thing. Idk if he's just trying to play less dbaggy or if he was told to take it easy but I'd like to see the more Washington version of him.

Great set of hands on that GWG. He could of just let the backhand being the only strike, but to quickly get to the forehand to be sure the puck went in! He is a much better hockey player then advertised. I think MGMT and coach spoke to him about extra curricular activities, how they could negatively effect what teams ultimate goal is.
That said, he certainly stands up for his linemates.

I think they need to allow him to play his game now, imo. No more pleasantries. He plays a hard nosed game. Time to let him do what he does best.

I think people need to realize we don’t need him starting shit every shift or even every game. But if shit gets started he’s the guy we want on our side.
Really hasn’t been one of those games since he got here. I’d look at this little stretch as the time for him to be a bit more visible.
I don't need him starting shit, but I need more of the physicality he was bringing to the Caps, I need it here. The open ice hits. The work on the boards. Stuff like that. I see him ramping it up this month for sure. But I need him to just go out there and play his game more.

love seeing Coyle as a big leader on this team. People talk about his price tag but that’s built into it (along with his strong defensive game), it’s not all points totals with him
